Sitting on top a hill overlooking the Rio Grande Valley, this National Forest land has multiple trails branching off it.
The locals recommended the location to us, and there were plenty of people already camped on the large hillside when we went up.

Beautiful views. Easy to get to. I stopped at the first campsite on the left. By trees. Windy af. Enough service to get work done. Seen a few bikers doing the trail as well as a couple vehicles and dogs running free along side them. Pretty much a happy peaceful place for my pups and I!
Report Check-InThe place was pretty busy but we found a spot at the bottom of a hill. Access was steep.
Report Check-InOMG one of the best spots I have camped in. 2 miles from town and beautiful. I am on top of a hill and have great cell service.
Report Check-InAmazing views. Very windy. It is the weekend after Memorial Day weekend and there is only one other camper here. I was told that last weekend was packed up here! Our 2wd Ram Promaster 1500 Cubbyvan had no problems on the roads. Keep it clean. Take your trash. Don’t make me your trashperson.
Report Check-InBeautiful mountaintop views! Strong Verizon service. Quite windy when I was there.
Report Check-InReally nice views just outside of Creede. a short drive up a dirt road that our 2wd van handled just fine. Our campsite was just up a hill where the road got a little bumpier, but the panoramic view was worth.
Report Check-InBlack bear in the area! We didn’t see it but other campers spotted it two nights in a row.
One of the roads due south of the GPS marker is private property We camped to the southeast of the marker near the trees. Road was fine with 2WD and good clearance, but beyond that the road gets very steep.
Few other campers, a couple of ATV’s but no excessive noise. Great views of the valley and night sky.
Nice views, just 5 min from town. It’s weekday and some places are taken
Report Check-InYes to all that's been said. We got here by turning onto Miner's Creek Rd outside of Creede (past the airport), then taking a right uphill at the road with the Forest regulations, or turn on Bachelor Rd/FR504. Stay to the right at the fork and keep going uphill. You crest at the first campsite. Take a right and there are at least two hilltops to camp on as well as a ridge. We saw 5th wheels, truck campers, a van and a schoolie up here. Bring your off road vehicles or dirt bike as there are roads for miles. We had a mid summer rain shower with thunder, rain and wind. Decent cell service.
Report Check-InThis place is truly spectacular. Right where the pin drop is you'll find within a couple hundred yards several two track roads heading off. The one I took is for sure a 4x4 high clearance track but the site at the end was fantastic. There are several tracks and most look doable in 2x van or truck/RV. I have 5 bars Verizon LTE. Zero on Visible
Report Check-InJust as described. A beautiful place to land. It was windy during the day. In October we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Spectacular!
Report Check-InAbsolute beauty in 360. I'm in a truck camper and had no problem getting up the roads. lots of places to pull off and get level. It is 9200 feet and a little windy but this is the first Big sky sunset I've had in forever. It's only less than 2 miles from town. There are some fire pits out already. They are OHV trails so you might get some noise and dust. There are a dozen miles of off roads to camp. some with trees.
This is at the end or the beginning of the bachelor loop historic mine tour.
