We stay 2 nights next to the centrale place of the village, very quiet, next to a playground.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We made last call for both cenotes last night ( arrived at 4 pm) as they close at 5:15. That was actually plenty of time to visit and enjoy the place before heading back to San Antonio for the night.
It’s an adorable little village with signs for lots of things happening but really no people! There were about 5 dogs playing in the soccer field by the playground and maybe 3 or 4 people and that’s it.
We slept with our vans back door open as it was extremely hot and we felt totally safe. We did find a toilet at the same complex as the big pool down the road ( you’ll find it) but not sure who owns it. Perhaps the small hotel across the street?
The cenotes were amazing and given that we were there so late we basically had them to ourselves. There’s an outdoor shower at Dzombakal cenote which is the one further down the road. The idea is to go there first and have a shower before entering the cenote then drive back to X Batun for your second dip. Both are lovely!
We spent the night by the playground and did some yoga and stretching at the playground in the morning before it got really hot. Bring whatever food you will need as we didn’t see a place where you could buy any provisions.
Nous y avons dormi et passé la fin de journée sans problème. Réveil matinal très bruyant des animaux beaucoup de chiens et une radio très très forte.
Report Check-InI did spend the nite by the park. Little village by the cenotes. People around very noces
Report Check-InThe road is blocked just a couple meters before the pinned location, it seems that you need to pay $50pp plus an unknown amount for the vehicle to enter the conservation area. Telcel service is very spotty, and the road in is rough (only big rig friendly if you don't mind a couple scratches). We ended up finding somewhere else to stay.
Report Check-InPerfect place to spend the night before or after visiting the close by Cenotes. Friendly neighborhood, quiet night.
Report Check-InWe didn’t stay for the night, but the place seems very quiet, safe and it is accessible for big RV. There are restaurants and hotels next to it.
