Belize
This place is owned by Celso Sho. He has a sign on the main road through the village that says “Macaws” and another outside his house that says “Macaw tickets sold here”. He said there’s a community cooperative that sells tickets to visit the Macaws. In return they work to preserve their habitat and maintain the trails.

He offered to guide us or to draw us a map to go on our own. We opted for the self-adventure. He charged us $30BZ for two. He also allowed us to camp on his land for the night. There was a water tap where potentially you could fill your tank but I didn’t ask.
The town is a lovely Mayan town and a very nice to spend a night. Best time to see the Macaws is early morning or late afternoon.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.

Celso and his wife let us stay on their property for two nights. We were planning to go see the macaws on our own but changed our minds and took the tour with Celso because he is such a nice person and a knowledgeable naturalist. We could park half on their property and use their basic facilities. They offered us to do laundry and fill our water. They also have fast wifi now. Celso and Iris are some of the nicest and most hospitable people we met on our long trip and we highly enjoyed staying with them. He only charged us 50US for the tour. No signs anymore but the location is accurate. Have a look at the satellite image to see the road leading to their house. Phone: +501 638 2727 FB: https://www.facebook.com/redbankscarletmacaw
Report Check-InCelso and his wife will give you a warm welcome at their place in the charming little village of Red Bank. He is not only a knowledgeable guide for birding but he can tell you a lot about history of the place and nowadays living. She’s an excellent cook and sells beautiful handicrafts.
You can park your vehicle or pitch your tent in front of their house and use all their facilities. It’s free if you book a tour. In the early morning you’ll see Scarlet Macaws and many other tropical birds right from their terrace. Highly recommended!
