We messaged Vidal prior and he sent us to this location. In front of the municipality building, so not private space, but all the locals said it was very safe. Local kids were a bit intrusive however.

We then next day visited Uros islands with Vidal's wife and daughter. They took us there in their boat, but we did the normal tourist route (they daid they couldn't take us to their home island due to community rules of tourist rotation). The tour was ok (price 10 Soles per person), Uros entrance fee is 8 pp.

Then everything is extra - museum 10s, mirador 10s, trip with traditional boat 20s, and you're kinda expected to buy some souvenirs at the local family's island.

All in all it was still a nice experience 🙂

Very easy way to visit the floating Islands of uros. You can camp for free out of sight of the street, very quiet and safe in front of the municipality building.
The trip takes approx. 3 hours and is very scenic.
The cost for the boat trip is now 20 pen p.P.
The entry fee to the islands is 8 pen p.P.
The trip on the tipical totora-boat is 20 peb p.P. (optional)
A trucha-dish in the restaurant on the main island costs about 20 pen, very nice trucha-ceviche though.
The visit to the Museum would cost an additional 10 pen p.P , we skipped it and took a longer trip along the islands, tried fresh totora (tastes a bit like banana), went to the isla de piedras and enjoyed the very special place.
From the parking you can take the minibus no. 16 for 1 pen p.P. right into downtown Puno.

Nice & safe place to stay, we stayed for 2 x nights. Very friendly locals around the area. Vidal took us to lake titikaka for 15 soles pp in his boat, we also paid an additional 10 soles pp to travel on another boat between the floating islands. Very kind and welcoming family.

Very good, private tour con Vidal and his family to his private island. 10 Sol pP. In the island you can see how it’s built and how they live. Have a trip with a typical boat.
They also offered artesanias, in our opinion a little bit expensive.

Visit the Uros con Vidal and his lovely family. Take a private tour to their family island on the Uros, see how it is build and if you like you can also take a tour on the typical boat. Have lunch at the capital of Uros.
