Trailhead of the 'Cajon de Arenales', Parking lot next to a bridge over a stream. To get there just register at the Carabineros office (they let you only pass if you arrive with daylight) and follow the little bumpy road for 2 km. The parking lot is next to the road but there pass like 2 cars per day.
In the 'Cajon de Arenales' are more than 350 climbing routes, some of them of excellent quality.

Pull off area on the road next to the bridge which is the trailhead. We wanted to drive further up the road but we were no confident that the bridge could handle our 6 ton vehicle so we parked next to the bridge. No flat areas but we made it work. On the other side of the bride there is a flat space big enough for two vans. People park here or just before the entrance gate (free, but must register there; open 8:00 - 20:00) and walk up to this trailhead. No cars after dark. Very safe. We stayed two nights. Nice hike up the canyon.
Report Check-InEndless climbing up this canyon, as well as back down towards where you registered at the gendarmerie. Bolted and trad, multi pitch and single pitch. You can buy a guidebook in Mendoza. Small parking area for van camping, but also various other options for little pullouts for slightly more secluded camping.
