In direction of East End Park. No service but many blue trash barrels. Sandy parking lot along the gulf. Some people pitch their tents late at night. Enough place for big rigs. Free camping.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
it I'd a beautiful place to sleep and very peaceful once all the partiers leave around midnight. that being said, the locals became very territorial the next day. we had zero issues most of the morning but as the day become later the beach became very packed and some locals parked so close I could barely open my doors. and were giving me side eye until I left. it's great at night when no one is around though.
Report Check-InWow! Beautiful location & you can pull right up on the beach. I'm just hanging out here for a few hours during the day & it's pretty packed but it's also the weekend. It's still very peaceful.
Report Check-InIt was a Saturday July 2nd, we were going to take the Ferry to the otherside to boondock Bolivar flat. The ferry lane so busy it was like 2 hrs wait. I looked on google map and saw this place seem like a nice little beach. We drove here and it was full of people. Lots of Mexican folks. Saw some people setup tent here, we didn't bother setup ours. We spread a blanket and slept on top of the sand outside on the open after we ate some awesome seafood and drank a few beers of course. It was hot but the breeze from the ocean was really nice. Didn't even need a blanket. However we couldn't sleep much since Mexican dude next to us play Mexican music all night long. There was a dude driving around selling firewood and a mexican lady sold us some green mangoes. Seem like the authority don't care if you hoondock here.
Report Check-InStayed 1 night before a cruise. No issues. One other van when I parked. 2 fisherman when I left in the morning. Nice breeze off the water
Report Check-InSpent 2 nights here at the end of the first parking area on the water. We had a nice quiet time here. Good beach walks. The nature walk across the street is pretty bad with mosquitoes. Would come again.
Report Check-InThis road does not allow parking on the road itself, BUT has three pull off areas within the first quarter of a mile. The pull off areas have blue garbage cans, Porta potties at one and are somewhat level. Several people in different size rigs boondocked where I was. No problem and I highly recommend it.
Report Check-Inthis road has parking lots that can accommodate multiple rigs and they are NOT posted as no camping zones. Bodekker Road IS posted as no parking, but the parking lots are fine. I'm here with my travel trailer and truck, as are others. across the road is a new walking trail that's great for walking my dog!
Report Check-InThere is a sign, says no overnight camping.
And in general wild camping is prohibited on the whole Galveston Island - there is no need to post it at every spot!
East Beach Galveston
as of our check in, it is a large free lot. Lots of locals come to hang out. In the summer it may be a pay lot, however the booths and the large building are closed up. We stayed here for 2 days.
Stayed here with a few other folks in their cars. Agree that it was loud until 9 ish with locals fishing and walking about.
When we left, we saw a sign stating no overnight parking but we weren't bothered at all.
We had 2-3 bars 4g with Verizon
Report Check-Infree parking, bathrooms, trash bins, concrete pads but popular and noisy with locals fishing at night with generators and
partying. Construction on the road in the morning.
Good place for the night, some concrete spots too if you want to avoid getting stuck in the sand. At night people come for fishing/clamming. We had a very quiet night, also enjoyed watching the boats go by.
Report Check-InNice view of the ships entering and leaving. Calm night
I don't think a permit is needed.
Next morning, bad weather the waves hit some parts of the parking lot. So stay away and camp closer to the road.
Le lendemain matin, mauvais temps venteux, les vagues atteignent certaines parties du stationnement. Alors, rester loin du bord et camper près de la route.
