Fantastic option for San Augustin. We stayed in the car in the parking area. Great kitchen, endless scaldingly hot water shower, beautiful gardens, nice fireplace. Social if you want it to be. Note there is a big construction happening next door, but it wasn’t too loud when we were there. Looks like 60% finished. 20K per vehicle.

Report Check-In

Really nice hostel (20k pp), with place to park your vehicle.

Awesome place. Very friendly manager, Harry, who gave us lots of tips for Colombia. Social hostel where we met many nice people. Very cosy inside with fireplace and big garden to chill. There were no other overlanders, so parking space was big enough. 10k for 2p and free coffee in the morning. Very good hot showers. We did a horseback riding tour via the hostel, 55k pp for an English speaking guide, recommended (but make sure you get a tranquilo horse if you have little experience). Archeological park is 30 min walking. Town is 15 min walking. Stayed for 4 nights.

Great hostal, has been there for 35 years, pretty grounds. dorm 20k. private rooms 50k-90k. 4 person and 3 person dorms. I went for one night and stayed for 4. possibly the friendliest cats and dogs ever?

Report Check-In

Nice place to chill for a few days. I was told that camping was no longer allowed on the fields, but I can put my tent in a wooden cabana, which was great. I paid 10k per night. Nice staff and good vibe.

Report Check-In

Pros: very pretty grounds, friendly staff, one of the best hot showers in a long time. Cons: tiny parking area that was very busy with taxis anytime between 6am and 11pm, WiFi very slow most of the time and useless in the evenings, worst coffee in all of Columbia.

How we love this place! We kept on coming back and even the third time being here it did not lose any of it's charm!
Try to get the cabana with the amazing view over the Valley. It has no toilet but you wouldn't want to miss out on those views (we payed 50.000COP).

This is the place in San Augustin! We spent 3 nights there, it's a very beautiful and relaxing place. Harri is very helpful and there is free coffee in the morning. Place for 2 big riggs, we sleep in our tent in the backyard for 10kpppn.

Report Check-In

Really nice and quiet place with garden, food, water, parking, possible to camp and access to hot shower for 10,000$ COP. Highly recommwnd it

Report Check-In

We are 2.7m tall and fit under the arch by going slowly and dragging sign along roof. Parking area is small and I think max length is about 8m. However, we did feel a little "in the way" as taxis come and go and then some guests park in the same lot. Paid 10k pp per night. We took the horse tour which we quite enjoyed, finished at the park and after visiting it, walked back from there. Wifi decent, Tigo reception good.

very nice place, we agree with all the good comments below. one of the best places we have stayed in south America. 10K cop pppn to camp/park-up, dinner 20K (order before 16:00 hrs), breakfast 5K. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR BIGGER RIGS: correction to the height limit of 2.7m mentioned by Kasbah below - we are 3.3m high and just squeezed under the gate. It has a sign across the gate-top hanging on chain. If you don't fit under it, just walk in and ask the guy to help lift it up. He climbed up the frame at the side and lifted the sign for us to fit under. It was a tight squeeze for us, so anything over 3.3m high will definitely not get in. Width is also quite narrow, but at 2.2m wide we got through with just a little room to spare. This place is well worth the effort!

Owner is very helpful. We stayed in the little parking lot between trees. There are some nice spots to hang out. Walking distance to the archeologic site is about 25 minutes. Restroom and showers where clean. We payed 10’000 COP per people per night.

Report Check-In

It's comfortable. Unsure why it costs 10000pp in cop for rigs but costs 15000 for a tent??? Owner wouldn't bargain lower either. Only reason I can think of is it's mid-July so high season and I'm just one person. Lame.

bom-diggity is the only way to describe this place.
dorms 23k
rooms in the house without bathroom 60K
cabanas with a bathroom 90k

tent camping is possible behind the house but I didn't check it out.

Report Check-In

It's like a botanical garden. 20 minute walk to the ruins. Comfortable and relaxing common areas and kitchen. Hot showers and good wifi. Power outlet nearby. $10,000 pp per night. Harry, the manager is super nice, accommodating and can provide you with lots of information. Also, they have a chef on site if you are interested in breakfast or dinner.

Report Check-In

Kasbah (the previous poster) is correct - this place is the bom-diggity! What a little piece of paradise to laze away the days. Walking distance to town. Everything you could want and need. You sleep in the parking area, but it's a lovely spot. We stayed longer then we planned. 10,000cop pppn.

Warning: this extremely friendly hotel / hostel could seriously upset your travel schedule -- we came here to spend 2-3 nights ... and stayed 10! Paid COP 10'000 pP pN.
The staff are like a big, hospitable family, the house and garden are nothing short of wonderful, and the dinners (COP 15'000 pP) are a very welcome and tasty change from the usual pollo con arroz.
Casa de Nelly has space for 2, maybe 3 vehicles but we remained the only one the whole time. The entrance gate is just over 2.7 m high, and there is no space to camp outside that gate.
Directions: From Parque Simon Bolivar in town keep following Calle 3 (some OSM-based maps are wrong at this point) in western direction. Take the third road to the left (Carrera 17, concrete slabs). 20 m after the first intersection the concrete strip makes a right turn. Follow it, then carry on for maybe 600 m until the concrete pavement ends. Turn left immediately after that and head up the hill for 400 m until you see the access road to Casa de Nelly (there is an access footpath before that but go past it).

Wonderful. Clean. Very Nice people. Free coffee. Excellent dîner. 10000 pp per night :)!! Highly recommanded.

Beautiful garden with kitchen, fireplace. highly recomended. we camped in our van. can only camp here if you sleep in your car. 10.000 per car (2people ). we came here after spending the night at Gamecelat- this place was significantly better. Harry, the manager, travelled by horse from San Agustin throughout Ecuador and had lots of stories-very interesting and nice man.
