Something not right?

Description

We looked for the Rappit Camp, but unfortuatly we found out, it was of the other side of the river, which take a another 30 minutes. Belong the way we had a look @ Savage Wilderness, but they ask 1000 KSh and for what we’ ve got it was not value for money. Back on the road (500 meters further to Sagana) we found Havila Resort. This resort is situated between de A2 (North Road) and the Tana. It is easy accesible and a fine location for a stop-over and ais a nice place for children. Upon entering you will find the main building with restaurant/bar. The camp site is few hundred meterd further, down to the river with grassy areas. The place is more equipped for tents as cars can’t camp there, but there is a concrete flat part with electricity. They also have 6 modern rooms.

Toilets and showers are close by, but outdated and not kept clean well (we tell them ;-)). They have warm water although we hadn’t. The water is drinkable from the outside tap.

Wifi is at the bar, which is good.

Staff is friendly abd they have security walking around.

They also arrange activities: horseriding, kayakking, raften, waterfall sliding, zip lining. They also rent bychicles.

Prices:
Camping own gear 500 Ksh pppn
Camping their gear 1000 Ksh pppn
Kids under 5 years for free.

750pp. Very friendly staff. The "campsite" is just a steep dirt pit used as a parking lot. You can't park on the grass. Run down place with dirty bathroom situation. Ok for one night.
We were the only customers and it was very quiet and relaxing.
The last 50 m before the campsite are steep and eroded/rocky/bumpy. Going up we used low range in our Hilux because we love our car.

The campsite is close to the river. Not very flat, but with some rocks you can level your car. Very friendly staf. In the evening they made a bonfire. Good and clean ablution, not all showers gave hot water. The bar/restaurant has a really nice view. 700ksh pppn.

Good stopover as it's not far from main road but you can't hear it, but make sure it's not on weekends. With our rooftop tent we camped at the camping area parking by the river but it doesn't feel like a parking lot if you're alone. The night was very quiet and peaceful (Friday) but on weekends it maybe a different story as in the morning (Saturday) around 9am they were preparing for an event right at the campsite lawn and testing the speakers with loud music only a few meters from us. Hot electric shower available. Good Safaricom internet signal. Paid 7500 KES ppn.
