Wonderful place to camp and climb (info at the Club Andino Mercedario). Super quiet place. There's a river by the road but it's not advisable for drinking since there's mining activity nearby. use only to wash dishes or shower. 25 km from Barreal city. Grave road in very good conditions. No need for a 4x4.

We spent 10 amazing days in Las Caletas to climb. We camped at different places:
- close to the CAB Refugio (you can ask for the keys first from the Club Andino Barreal if you want to access it, always nice to have a shelter to gather and cook by night). Quite close to the river to get some water (better not to drink it, or let it settle for a while…)
- in the boulder area (Primeros Bloques ). Good wind protection and perfect for morning bouldering !
very quiet, muy tranquilo
no facilities, sin facilidades
very nice views! paisajes increíbles
