Description
This is the park’s administration office and a small rural community that offers tours to Isla Corazón. Beautiful mangrove area with plenty of birds and nesting sites. We had Alfredo as a guide and he’s a wonderful person who’s lived here all his life and will tell you about the changes in the area due to human intervention and natural disasters. They also cook what they fish here such as crab, shrimp, etc, all delicious and you get to meet the families that live here. Boat tours cost $15 pp and food $4pp.
We were invited to stay by the vet that works in the admin office, since he helped us rescue a turtle in Canoa. However, we asked Alfredo (head of community, whatsapp 0969486033 ) about the possibility that other overlanders could stay and he said you’ll be welcome to stay the night too. There is enough room for small to midsize vans. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff.
