NOTE, recent reports show a willingness to attempt to fill almost any bottle including US, Chilean and European bottles. 10/2018
Gas filling plant at the end of the side road. They filled our 10kg tank for 10$. No problems with the universal valve. They could fill my Swiss bottle (image) with the adapter!
See recent check-in advising they can fill US-style fixed tanks with the 1 3/4" ACME connector. They may fit your vehicle with a spark arrestor on the exhaust and give you a hard hat so you can enter the restricted area

Report Check-InENI Gas were amazing the second time we visited. They could only put 2kg into our 5kg Chilean gas bottle and were apologetic - such lovely team.

This is a big gas company with lots of trucks so they are very busy.
First they say it tooks around 1 hour but after 30 minutes they were finished. They filled only 8 kg and we payed 15 USD.
It seems the only chance to refill gas bottles in Quito.
We were able to fill up our Chilean gas bottle here without having an adapter! $5 for every 3 kilos, for 4 kilos we paid $10.
Don't come here if you're in a rush, we had to wait almost three hours, not sure if that's standard, just a heads up!

definetly what they were doing was not legal, and since few weeks they have new ruels and you need to be from Ecuador and have many papers.
I have been looking for a place to full my gas, and after 2 weeks un the country without cooking I stay there, I "cry" and pray so many times that at the End they full my bottle from México.
I do not know if for the Next one Will be posible
Was not able to fill my tank from Curaçao.....have to buy a new tank in Pifo they said.

Report Check-InAs said before, no problem! (US cylinder) They asked 8$ for 6kg (4$ for every 3kg). Way more expensive than a big ecuatorian tank (2$ for 20kg!!!) but keep in mind that they have almost no financial interest when they refill our bottles! This is an extra for them.
The guy at the entrance was really nice and helpful. Apparently people come here every day, so help the community and be nice with them so it can continue! :)
Report Check-InWe were able to fill our German gas bottle with our adapter today. They only fill in 3kg steps, so 3, 6, 9, etc. and charge $4 per 3kg
Arriving just before lunch break was a bad idea though ;-)
No refill of fix tanks posible anymore.
Lose cylinders not a problem.
Impossible to refill. they said, the owners do not allow it anymore and that rules have changed. hopefully it was an unlucky day for us and someone else can still do it. we have a fixed tank.

Since Bolivia we couldn’t find any spot that was willing to refill our fix tank. So we are more than happy!!
Just conductor could enter (wearing long pants, shoes and a security helmet).
Filling took 10mins.
Do not show up between 11am-2pm, they are taking a break.
Open on Saturday!
Paid $16 for 16kg.

we wait outside. it cost 1$ per kg.
NOTE that they seem to be willing to attempt to fill 6 bottles including Chilean US and European, and have a good success rate
Report Check-InNos cobraron 12usd 9kg, insistimos pero no quisieron bajar el precio tampoco no dieron factura, definitivamente lo están haciendo de forma ilegal, te cobran lo quieren y se quedan ellos con el dinero, nosotros tuvimos que aceptar con mucha indignacion por que hace dias que estabamos sin gas y realmente necesiabamos para cocinar. Lo mejor es comprar un adapador en la ferreteria y transvasar uno mismo de la garrafa de 15kg que cuesta 1,6 usd

We have a US fixed tank. We arrived at beginning of lunch time and drove right up to the gate. Checked with security guard and he called someone over. Only driver allowed in plant, passenger waits in waiting room at security. Took 40 minutes; these guys are beyond helpful and happy to learn about you. You need correct change and you don't get a receipt....No adaptor needed for us.

Report Check-InAs long as you have some time in front of you they'll fill your propane tank. Since it is not their primary business, overlanders have to wait for a gap between two trucks being filled, it took about an hour and a half.
Paid $8 for 6kg of propane.
Staff is friendly and professional.
5kg Chilean bottle - full! Hooray! They took the bottle for about 10 minutes, and charged $8 (we paid $10,as they didn't have change).
Report Check-InFantastic people, very helpfully, even on saturday late afternoon ! They filled up 2 french bottels 13 kg each, but were ussing my adapter. And we could stay on the parking for the night, save and quiet!
