Description

I’ve added this as a campground icon as well as we would have overlooked it listed under “hostel” on the other listings. See the icon next to this for other reviews:

This is a great campsite close to the town. Large area for 4-5 large campervans with hot showers, clean toilet, good kitchen and fine WiFi. As noted on the other posting, you have to go to the hotel across the road (and around the corner) to register and pay. 7000 pesos pp/night. We were happy to pay that price for the safety and comfort of being in a good place with our own car and only 5 min walk to town.

Social atmosphere but also nice and relaxed. Highly recommended!

Latest Check-Ins

7000 pesos pppn in a tent. Unfriendly owner. The camping area is a dusty parking with junk laying around. WiFi did not work.
We had an incident where somebody walked around the campers at 4am opening a door at the camper next to us while they were asleep. The person also opened the bags on our motorcycles. Luckily he got scared away by our neighbors which noticed that their door was being opened. Nothing was stolen luckily.
So be aware when coming here.
Definitely not recommended.

Report Check-In

local muito bom, água luz sanitários, cozinha e no centro de S.P. Atacama

Report Check-In

Just a note to say big rigs cannot goes in.
There is low clearance, due to electric cable, and a small bridge who cannot support heavy weight.

Report Check-In

We found this place to be alright. Hot showers, clean toilets but we didn't always have toilet paper. Kitchen but with unreliable internet. It was very close to town and shops so easy to walk everywhere. Quiet at night and safe as gate is always closed. 8000 pp but our 5yr olds didn't have to pay. I think they charge from 6 and up. We paid 8000 because we didn't need any hookups.

Report Check-In

We stayed here two nights (almost accidentally, by the time we paid we were past the check out time for the next night, so make sure you keep that in mind!). It wasn't the best, but also was the cheapest place (8000 per person, no water/electric) that was easily walkable to town and had hot showers. We met a lot of other overlanders, and many had kids who seemed to run around and entertain each other (I think there was also a kiddie pool set up? not sure if this is always the case). No shade really, but we kept our doors open and it gets cool at night. Not many options in San Pedro, so this one was fine for us.

Report Check-In

This place is such a ripoff! We stayed two nights 2 adults, 4 kids and payed $US 130 ( 10000pp/ night + fee for water electricity). There was no wifi, no toilet paper, bathroom filthy, we had to pay water and electricity extra. The “campsite” is a dusty parking lot with no shade. Unfortunately our camper is quite high, that is why we did not fit anywhere else.

Report Check-In

It is rather expensive at 8.000 pesos per person. In the camping area there is a single toilet for everyone (and there were quite a few people here) and two showers total. Showers have hot water. The wifi isn’t bad, but if a lot of people are trying to use it it will not work well. The location is very convenient and the owner is a very nice lady.

Report Check-In

We weren’t very happy with this place, but we chose it because of the location. On one hand in the shower it takes the water a couple of minutes to start running warm/hot, but when we washed our socks or underwear the lady came to yell at us that we are wasting water and that she prohibits it. Yes, you can use the kitchen, but neither the electrical kettle, mixer nor the big oven don’t work - the stove is ok, just try everything before planning your meal and shopping (we didn’t :). It’s also occupied half of the day by the cook (for the landlords) or the cleaning ladies, who come here to chat. The electricity in the poles next to the cars didn’t work, you need to charge you stuff in the kitchen/outside, where you also need to keep an eye on it. The internet is ok for browsing, unless there are more people connected, but for us it was useless for video calls or downloading (books, movies). Well. The location is great though😂

Report Check-In

It is a very convenient campsite, 5 minutes walk to the main plaza, it has kitchen and wifi. For motorhomes they have separate place than the tents and hostel. where motorhomes go only one toilette 2 showers and small kitchen, also 1 electric point, 2 vans weshared it. We paid 14000 pn for 2 people and van.

Dormimos 2 noite diferentes aqui. Pagamos 8.000 pesos por pessoa por noite. Wifi razoável. Água potável. Banho bom. Cozinha comunitária. Minha esposa e eu dormimos dentro do carro e foi super tranquilo. 5 minutos caminhando do centro. @esticaedalee

Report Check-In

Price still 8000clp/ppn. One toilet and two showers, but quite stream and hot water was just in one during our stay. WiFi weak but good Movistar signal.

Report Check-In

Same as described the comment before. Friendly staff. Close to the Main Square. Recommended. We stayed 3 nights.

Report Check-In

Clean & warm showers, helpful staff, nice atmosphere. We paid 8000 pp/pn for our 4x4 with rooftop tent. Separate amenities and kitchen available for RV/tents apart from hostel, but the hostel shared spaces are also available. Fully equipped and nice shady courtyard. A welcome stopover for us after several days of wild camping.

Report Check-In

We stayed with our van for three nights and paid 8'000 p.P.p.N. Lovely family who run this place. Clean toilet and showers with hot water. Very slow WiFi.

Report Check-In

Amazing place owned by a sweet family. Overall a very cozy place to spend a few days!

Great option for people camping on tents or simple motor homes. Their kitchen is fully equipped (stove, fridge, electric oven, pans, trays, plates and silverware) and showers are hot(2 of them).

We paid 6000 a day/person but expect to negotiate.

Report Check-In

The whole town of San Pedro de Atacama is extremely expensive. This campsite is quite 'reasonable'. In this campsite, the owner chooses the prices randomly. We paid 7000 po, our neighbours paid 10000pp. Don't hesitate to negotiate. For trucks, this is more of a car park than a campsite. Clean bathrooms and toilets hot shower. Friendly staff. Safe place.

Report Check-In

friendly hostal with lots of other bike tourers and friendly staff. A well equipped kitchen and hot water in the showers. the grounds not great for camping but I asked and they gave me some cardboard to put my tent on. 6000CLP for camping.

Report Check-In

Fine place - a little pricey just like the rest of town! 10,000 pp.

The property on one side of the street is for tents, cute place! On the other side is for car campers and there are a few rooms. Not sure how the tent camper wifi is, but the vehicle camper side is slow. Of course, it’s best either very late or very early. You will be able to receive and send messages, but images, videos, and downloads aren’t so great. The showers require at least 5 minutes of warm up before you’ll get hot water!

Report Check-In

buena onda in this place. 10k/pers. hot shower, calm during night and wifi ok but not fast. the place for the vehicule is in front of the street

Report Check-In

Estacionamiento con baños limpios, ducha caliente y electricidad. Muy cerca del centro, personal muy amable. $10.000 diarios x 2 personas y motorhome

Report Check-In

Nice camping with hot shower. It's clean. Some people held a party in the main part of the camping so it was a little bit noisy. The owner is helpful. He found us a mecanic.

Bon camping avec des douches chaudes. C'est propre. Dans la partie principale du camping, certaines personnes font la fête donc c'était un peu bruyant. Le propriétaire est aidant. Il nous a trouvé un mécanicien.

Report Check-In

Good place to put a tent. The people are still friendly. 6,000 to camp per person. Still one of the cheapest places to stay probably.

Report Check-In

It is a good camping, but the place where the MH stay it is a little dusty, and It is not possible to fullfil the Water tank. the people are very frendily.

Report Check-In

A small and quite messy place for campers/tents. Toilet, hot shower, kitchen, WiFi (good).

Report Check-In

Agree with Charlietewson on all except Wifi - it was VERY weak, and everyone here complained about it too. Otherwise a great place and good value for SPdA.

Report Check-In

Small, but convenient only minutes away from the centre. Toilets and showers were clean, water hot. Wifi slow, but usable. Owners are very friendly.

Report Check-In

Süent 4 nights here, quiet place, as stated before with very friendly and helpful owner Don Humberto. Facilities clean, but limited - 1 toilet, 1 shower, water cut off during the night. Place for 4 or 5 rigs

Report Check-In

Close to town. No issues with water during the night when we were there. Very nice owner, that can give you advices about San Pedro. Price still 7000pp.

Report Check-In

Nice chilled place and friendly staff in a good location. WiFi was described as slow, in our case it was so slow as to be inoperable. Gmail would time out and forget streaming. No better in reception either were there's maximum signal strength. Nice warm shower but dirty.

Report Check-In

paid 6000 to stay in a tent without car. good kitchen. good hot showers. friendly owners and people there. recommended

Report Check-In

Close to center of the village. HOWEVER, there is only one (!) toilet for the whole campground and that one toilet does not function properly. Additionally, due to water shortage at this place, water is turned off during night (incl. toilet). Just disgusting. Not worth the price.

Report Check-In

Camping tent with a car was 7000 pp. Since the 10 bed dorm is also 7000 pp, they let us sleep in the dorm, no extra charge. Was a welcome change after sleeping in the tent a lot.

Report Check-In

Camped here for 5000 pesos in a tent. Owner really friendly speaks good English. Facilities clean. Left after one night because the campsite was stuffed with people and very noisy. The lights of the street nearby stayed on the whole night and cars were passing regularly through the night. WiFi was OK.

Report Check-In

We paid 6000pp in our van and our friend paid 5000 in a tent. Clean bathrooms, tp, hot shower. Equipped kitchen. WiFi was ok. Close to center. Good for big rigs.

Report Check-In

Good camping place for different size Cars. Kitchen services. Electricity, tide hot shower (no towels and soap) bring your personal things. Clean toilettes. Nice owners. Close to town. At front you can use the Hostal place with services too and place for tents. Good wifi, some times slow. No restaurant. Everything at walking distance.

Report Check-In

We spent a nice time there with others Overlanders. Price pp is 7000 pesos including clean&hot showers, parking, wifi, and kitchen. You have to pay extra to refill water.

Report Check-In

Price for camping is 7000 per person per night. The man advised that the previous review stating off season price of 5000 was not correct and they never give that price. Secure quiet place to park very close to town, hot shower, patchy wifi, basic kitchen you can use, potable water.

Report Check-In

Low season price for camping: 5000 pesos. Lovely place! Internet so and so, but that's the situation all over town.
