Description

Marsh coastline with beautiful views and nice breeze. Pit toilet (no paper or running water) and shaded picnic tables. Gate had a sign that said no camping, but there were no rangers to ask if van parking was allow. No signs indicated open/closing hours. Boat ramp nearby, which seemed active throughout the night to accommodate trawling for crustaetians. Some noise from trawling boats and several other vehicles passing through between sundown and sunrise, but no run-ins. Beach is very mucky as it's marsh, but home to lots of incredible birds and wildlife.

There’s a sign at the entrance of the park that says no camping permitted. Looks like it has been there for a long time. Drove 45 minutes out of the way for nothing. :-)

Day use only!

Report Check-In

I only stayed for the day since there is a NO Camping Permitted Sign at the front entrance.
I know a lot of us traveling in vans can argue that overnight parking and camping are not the same thing but… it’s there. Respect the locals.

Absolutely stunning sunset. It was so quiet and peaceful. Bugs were not bad at all.

You can come here for the day and then drive 12 minutes north to Keaton Beach Boat Ramp & Park that is 24-hours and allows overnight parking. It is paved and very well-lit.

VERY nice spot on the water. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful sunsets….until someone decides to fire up a generator during the sunset…be respectful people! Could tell the locals who came to watch the sunset were not impressed with the noise. Other than that was a beautiful spot. Police drove by around 7pm but they didn’t say anything. There was multiple vans and a truck camper in the area. Watch for the small holes in the sandy soil along the shores, there are thousands of little crabs! If it’s quiet enough they eventually come out, we found they were most active in the morning and just before sunset. Wasn’t too buggy in early February, but there was a nice breeze so maybe that’s why it wasn’t too bad. Overall very nice

Big hello to Henry from Australia and Crux and Beta, fellow Road People! Absolutely sweet spot, next to a gorgeous cove amidst beautiful palms and grasses. Picnic tables, grills, some pavilions, one clean pit toilet, trash receptacles, and a wild life viewing area. Really wet, marshy nearby trails. This is old Florida at its finest! The ultimate place for a beautiful sunset. Two areas for parking: at the lower water/marsh parking lot and higher up in a parking loop. Only 2 other Ram Promaster here. Nobody drove through at night, no problems. Just a peaceful, beautiful overnighter. Beware of soft ground, mud and sand when parking off pavement. We did not see a ‘no camping’ sign, just a car sign with an arrow at the front gate.

Got in after dark with our 28ft travel trailer and noticed the no camping sign but didn't have any issues. Got LIT UP by mosquitos at night but none at all in the daylight. Only noticed one car circle around at like 1am otherwise we had it all to ourselves. Views were amazing in the morning, fabulous spot to stay in!

As others have said - this is a great little ocean side spot! Definitely buggy & being so close to the water made it the most humid night I’ve had (but maybe that’s what I get for traveling east from Utah...) I had full cell signal (Verizon) which is always nice too! Great spot & would totally come back!!

like the others, I hate to say how awesome this place is. we rolled in around 9:30pm and didn't realize the beauty til this morning. There was minimal trash. looks like maybe from animals getting in the cans. the cans have no lids. so we picked up a little before leaving. there is a no camping sign, but like someone said previously, no signs stating the hours. we heard some boats around 1:30am and someone drove through the park around that same time. but no one bothered us. hope to stay here again. the mosquitoes were bad at night, but not a problem in the morning, and they are huge!!! enjoy!!
oh, there is a vault toilet and it had paper. looks like the grounds were just mowed. I think this area is used a lot, so it's well maintained. picnic tables and grills. No Tmobile coverage
for some reason this review is preset at 2.5 stars...I'd give it 4 or 5

neat spot! we enjoyed our 2 nights here.

pros: beauriful area and we were the only ones camping here!

cons: bug infested! mosquitoes and spiders, we got all bit up. the maintenance person, seems like his shift starts at 8 pm and ends at midnight. he was mowing the grass areas both nights we were here. then he lit the palm trees on fire at midnight lol. not sure if that's a thing but he did it both nights lol.

also there was a random guy driving all slow and parked right next to our rv. when he saw us walking to it, he drove away. super weird and unsettling. a lot of people drive through and just leave. idk if they are just checking out the spots or they have some other motive. the cops also came our 2nd day and took their boat out lol.

beautiful spot and the weather was amazing, but the people can be a bit strange lol. nobody bothered us but we didn't stay another night.

let's follow each other on ig! we love meeting up with fellow ioverlanders!

Great location, quiet until the airboat started up around 3:30am. No problem, just went back to sleep. Lots of grills and picnic tables.

I really want to tell you this place is awful because I don't want you coming here and ruining it. This is a gem of a place. Quiet at night, but there are some airboats of fishermen that can make it occasionally noisy. Has an outhouse that was out of toilet paper but stocked well with hand sanitizer. Individual covered picnic tables for 5 people, though there was also a section nearby without tables that had a dozen or so spots.

Friday night there were some kids here drinking and being loud, but they left when the bugs came out.

Ratings still broken for me, but I'd give it a 5.

Beautiful spot. I was here 2 days and had 2-3 bars of cell coverage on AT&T. One other camper during my stay but that was it. There is some traffic during the day and a few at night. The site has picnic tables, grills, garbage bins and a pit toilet by the main outlook area. Roads are a little bumpy with some big potholes so drive carefully!

Great quiet spot. One other Class C here. Pulled in during a storm at 9:30 pm and bad weather all night so no fisherman for us.

This was a beautiful location to park and collect myself. pet toilets not necessarily all that clean but available and great Verizon service I was able to upload a video from here. I parked for three nights and was able to get a lot of work accomplished and a beautiful site for painting if you're into that sort of thing and I am. there was one other van here when I got here they left the next day and on Saturday it got a little busy with locals but everyone seemed very respectful. I didn't have any problems with partygoers or anything like that there was none of that going on although being January that may have been the reason and it was quite cold. I think it was the perfect time to be here. I definitely suggest this spot as a great place to stay for a couple of nights. It doesn't seem to want to let me change the amount of stars. I would give this place four stars

By far the best place I have stayed at living in my van. Please, please keep this place clean and allowing of us van people! I was there on a Friday till mid-day Saturday. Basically me and my dogs own private beach! A few people came to launch boats and some already had. One guy chillen in the sand listening to music. Other than that, nothing! Absolutely amazing.

I don’t think it would be the best for “big rigs” but 21 foot RV wouldn’t be bad.

Be careful of the Horseshoe Crabs nesting in the water. Don’t disturb or step on them please.

There was quit a bit of trash around so I picked some up. Take care of this place <3

Stayed here for one night and had zero problems. We showed up on a Saturday and it was very busy, but easy to find a spot and everyone else cleared out before dark. While the views are gorgeous, the bugs are terrible! You can't even see them, but believe me they are there!

Beautiful place to camp right by the sea! I stayed 3 days here with no issues. Lots of shore birds to watch and enjoy! People came and went, but it was quiet for the most part. One of my favorite places I've stayed!

Park with picnic tables and grills, clean and quiet with the occasional air boat launch. Pit toilets by the bird viewing tower. Stayed here for 4 nights. Potentially buggy with swap areas and tidal mudflats.
