Great winter camping spot with electric clean wash rooms and showers. Close to town and we saw the busses running often. Will definitely stay here at anytime year round. Was $36/day with electric

Report Check-In

Decent camp ground, only one open in the winter until you hit Lake Louise, amazing views! Did hear a few trains off in the distant, but not as bad as others have said.

Report Check-In

its a nice PC operated campground open year round. however these days huge portions of the site are either closed or marked as not-available in the reservation system. actually most sites are now available.
privacy is given however you park along the roads on paved ground.

you can hear the trains in the distance. it can be noisy as the signaling with the horn a lot.

there is a free shuttle bus in the city center

Report Check-In

Très cher (plus que celui de lake Louise) et le pire campground que nous avons eu mais le seul ouvert à Banff

Report Check-In

Many many spaces for all RV sizes, tents a.s.o. Several clean hot shower buildings, toilets. CG is mostly a giant parking lot but nice views on the mountains. Pretty crowded in high season, reservation required. Unlimited Firewood! Stayed here the evening before hiking at Lake Louise.

Report Check-In

Camped here because we needed to charge the batteries, having spent two nights in Tunnel Mountain Village I. Campground is basically a parking lot, however it is totally surrounded by stunning mountain views and has electricity at each site. Convenient location to Banff town, surrounded by lovely trails and views of the Bow River.

Report Check-In

The campsite is located in a beautiful location between the mountains. the view is really beautiful. 44 dollars for a place with firepit. There is also a bus that takes you to banff center for 2 dollars.

Report Check-In

Outstanding value! Expensive but worth the price. The fire ring sites include firewood…. Not bad for a couple extra bucks.

Report Check-In

Big but quite and with all the necessary equipments (showers, drinkable water, etc.)

Report Check-In

Tried to get a spot, as it said First come first serve on the park map. It turned out you need a reservation. We didn't get a spot in the whole area even though we checked every campspot in the afternoon and evening. I tried to make a reservation online as there was one spot available at one point, but the system said it's too late and also charged me for firewood I wouldn't need. Would've been 50$! Check out time is 11am, maybe you have best chances to get in without a reservation around this time or at 7:30pm-8pm, because then they get their cancellations.

Report Check-In

Not as bad as I first thought. As a recreation site camper you are spoiled. But for a campground so close to Banff, absolutely ok. Each residential street has its own elevation level, so everyone has mountain views on at least one side. Nice reception at the front desk. However, would only stay here a few days.

Report Check-In

As described by others. good for visiting Banff in winter. Filled water on the way in, emptied black tank on the way out, and sites have power. Washroom and hot shower nearby. As someone stated, not busy this time of year so could have saved the reservation fee. Sites along south edge (furthest from the way you enter) have best view across the valley, but are furthest from the showers.

Report Check-In

OK camping, only a few showers, but expensive but the only one open in winter time

Report Check-In

Camping provincial, paysages extraordinaires entouré de montagnes, mais on as l’impression d’être dans un stationnement. Seul camping ouvert en avril au alentour de Banff.

Report Check-In

Close to town. There’s a bus that comes through the camp site regularly throughout the day and stops at 2 bus stops within the campground. Not sure if it comes around year round but it is in April 2021.

Very quiet here this time of year, I’d say 30% full last night although lots of rows are left empty right now as they’re keeping everyone in the spaces that have the least amount of snow/water

If you come here in the off season don’t bother booking online, they charge you a $11 booking fee on top of the camp site.

Cost was $34 for no fire pit or $44 for a fire pit... includes firewood though

No privacy, you’re basically parking on a road.
Washrooms are in good shape, looks like they’re cleaned daily.

Nice campground close to town and hiking trails. Very quiet weekdays!!

Report Check-In

Strange set-up. As others have said, you park on the side of the road. Not a lot of room to turn around. If you have more than about a 15' trailer, you probably won't be able to turn around. Mine's 20' and I'm going to have to back down the road about 200m to get out when I leave b/c the lane/sites at the end of the row haven't been cleared of snow.

Despite what the Parks Canada reservation website indicates, this is not a great spot for mid-size & above trailers in winter unless you pick your spot carefully. Area B would be better b/c you can drive straight through to the road btwn A & B to get out.

15/30/50 amp service.

When I reserved a site, a fire permit was added even though I didn't want it.

There is a central dump site. Water is also available to fill fresh tanks in winter.

Trains heard regularly through the night.

Not a great option. Should have stayed longer at Mt. Kidd RV Park in Kananaskis.

Report Check-In

Still open self registration List of availabile sites upon entry. Area is ploughed which is great.

Same as Tunnel Mountain Campground II. The only open campground in Banff in the winter. Expensive but cheaper than a hotel. You can look up costs online but it is about 32$ Canadian and during the winter it is self registration. They take cash or credit. The spaces are RIGHT next to one another, lined up with no privacy. Located pretty much in town surrounded by hotels and other buildings. They have hot showers and water to fill your rig. Not the ideal campsite but fine for sleeping while exploring Banff for a few days. NO WATER DURING THE WINTER.

Very simple and clean RV park. Perfect for what we needed - electrical and water.
It’s was $32 for one night.
Although not very scenic, it was great for a couple of nights. So well organized and a play every night at 7:30.
Free camp wood too.
There was also a shuttle to downtown. Free from the campground.

Report Check-In

Campground full but we could stay at overflow parking (28$). They told us overflow never gets full so you can arrive anytime. Only thing: you can’t leave your spot after parking (well you can but you can’t come back). It’s actually a road that goes around the camping area and you stand behind each other. Bathroom house is heated and showers are good and hot. It’s expensive but at least you can use the same facilities than the campers of the actual campground.

Report Check-In

Large campground, well organized, not much privacy. Only Campground at Tunnel Mountain where you can hookup. Tidy. There's a shuttle bus to Banff, #2 bus. No campfires here.

Report Check-In

Arrived about 2pm and entire park was already full (on a Tuesday!?). So paid $28 for overflow which included no tables or pits etc, lucky were able to use toilets and showers. Weren’t allowed fires and parked one behind the other on the far back road. Felt like parking on a side street but Banff is pretty strict on that so would rather avoid a ticket. Easy way for them to get some extra $ in the grounds but wouldn’t stay more than a night like this

Report Check-In

Overpriced windy parking lot. All spots come with electricity for $32, even if you don't need it. Half of the amenities are closed in winter, but still pay full price.
Unfortunately the only place open in winter.

Report Check-In

Really big campground a few minutes from Banff. Open year round! Paid 32$ with electricity. Nicely plowed. Self registration in winter. Heated toilets, running water, showers, everything!

Report Check-In

Just another depressing RV park. Views were amazing though, and the showers (included in price) and toilets were good.
Quite expensive as all RV parks are. We only needed a place with our van since all other campsites were closed, but they only offer places that include everything (electricity etc) so you pay a lot even though you don’t need or use it.

Report Check-In

Went here without reservation after being told Tunnel Mountain RV park I was full. They had a electric hookup spot, which we didnt need for $36 and it was pretty much a paved spot with a table, but was all we needed for one night. Had showers and good bathrooms. Next night we stayed at a "tent site" but was very small shared spot which had electric and water hookups, even though they said it didnt. Site was decent and was a short bike ride into town. Really enjoyed the location even though the site was not the best we had stayed at.

Report Check-In

Great place for tents and/or RVs. Very shaded and lots of wonderful scenery.

Report Check-In

park near the camp ground and just walk in and use showers. easy and nice showers. if your in a tent this is a bad spot. great views tho

Report Check-In

Super expensive, noisy, smokey. do yourself a favor and park by the Grehound/Railway station for free, 12hr max.

Report Check-In

Expensive parking lot like RV park. Less than exciting for a place like the Canadian Rockies. Feela like a Walmart parking lot.
