We went to the Toyota dealer to replace our ignition lock that broke down. First day they had a look, but could not fix it immediately. We came back the second day, but they could not find the part anywhere in Iran. It was for an 18year old Land Cruiser 100, so I was already expecting that it would be hard to find. They tried to get the pin of the steering lock out. Also they installed a new ignition lock with key to replace a temporary screwdriver operated ignition. However, the new ignition lock only starts 1 out of 3 times. (They broke the screwdriver lock so we cannot replace that one while that one started every time). Even worse: the pin from the steering lock was not removed or fixated!

They already reinstalled the dashboard when I came to check the results. We found out the hard way the steering lock was not okay. On our way to the border the steering wheel locked on a roundabout luckily not causing an accident or even worse killing someone. We went back to the dealer and now they finally removed the pin and everything works. I had to put back the dashboard myself, because the were not able to do it themselves properly..

The manager speaks English and seems friendly and does the best he can. However, you don’t get a feeling of being taken seriously. Even when problems are clearly getting worse the manager laughs at you and is impolite. The lead mechanic is stubborn and did a shitty job. Especially saying that the steering lock is safe while it clearly wasn’t. So I would recommend to go somewhere else if the repair job quality is important. We did not like the way we were treated over here. Which is one of the first times in whole Iran that we had such a bad experience with people and the way they communicate and act. Unfortunately we had some more car trouble so we already had some experience with much nicer people who delivered way better quality.
