Namibia
Campsite not far from the road (2.5km, no 4x4 necessary).
Very peaceful and lovely on the riverside. Lots of waterlilies and birds.
Staff are very helpful.
The campsites are extremely huge (40x40m) and private fenced. All with their own private kitchen and bathroom.
320 pp per night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Also known as Bush Camp.
This is a great camp, we had site BC3 which fronted directly onto the river, nice big site with everything you need.
Very friendly welcome
Closed for renovations at the moment. Probably re-open after low season.
Report Check-InVery nice and quiet camp with 4 campsites. It is located directly on the water. 2 hippos are in the immediate vicinity in the channel and we had elephant visit shortly after dusk. With 320 NAD pp it is not cheap but within the range of comparable camps. The proximity to the Kwando Game Park is a real bonus. On the downside, depending on the wind, you can hear trucks driving over the grooves in the early morning hours just before you stop at the B8. All in all, we can recommend the camp!
Report Check-InA lovely camp with huge campsites with private ablution and bathrooms. It is very well maintained, and has hot showers. Electricitiy and Wifi works at certain hours in the morning and in the evening. There is a nice Sunset- Deck and a little Pool with a bar. Unfortunately you have to bring your own drinks, because the bar is not serviced. Roxy, the camp Manager/Guide is very polite and helpful. However, the price is much too high.
Report Check-InWe pulled in here to discuss the price for camping. The ‘manager’ was very helpful and friendly but had no power to negotiate. We were quoted $320pppn, he called his superior to ask permission to reduce the price and eventually got authority to offer us $280pppn. This is still far too much for us, especially for a camp that isn’t inside a National park - there were so many cattle on the drive in we weren’t really expecting a truly ‘wild/bush’ experience! Plus we’ve stayed in very nice hotel rooms for less!
We told them $250pppn was our absolute maximum, but they preferred to leave the camp completely empty with no clients rather than reduce the price further.
We moved on to another site.
This Camp looks very luxury, directly at the Kwando river; staff very nice and helpfull. Unfortunatelly not big enough for our big rig - MAN 6x6 (11 m long); trees in the entrace area. For smaller cars - very recommended!
Report Check-InSimply great! Roxy is a STAR!!! 4 Private Campsites, Pool and the Mad Max Bar :)
Report Check-InAs described before nice campsites - no 3 is the best as it has an open view of a sidearm of the kwando river - no 2 is quite overgrown. We loved the small pool with a view. Bar was closed when we where there. Paid N$ 240/Pers
Report Check-InVery nice and spacious campsites, private, clean ablutions, campsite has been opened in 2018, so everything is quite new. We were on campsite 3 and could hear the hippos walk by and jump into the water. Campsites are fenced, very nice staff. Pool was small but very clean. We paid 220 pppn, standatd rate is 270. Definitely worth the money!
Report Check-InRead the description above. It's very nice for nature loving people. Better than the main camp - in my opinion.
Report Check-InBeautiful campsite, with private sink and BBQ under a roof. Private hot shower and toilet too. The access road is sandy, but was manageable with a bicycle except the last bit. Totally worth the effort. The 290 is of course overpriced but the manager offers straight away a discounted price of N$150. At the end I got a cyclist friendly price of N$100 :-)
Report Check-Innew built campsite not far from the road.(2km no 4x4 necessary)
