Nicely located and laid out camp with good space between each site. The 2.1km Rhino Trail is easy underfoot and recommended, with the first 400m including an informative Braille Trail for the visually challenged.
Report Check-InTry to get the spot at the end of the campsite in the corner of the fence; we saw hyena, nyala, rhino, elephant, impala, zebra, kudu, maraboe, warthog Just a few metres from our truck!
Was very quiet on the campsite during the week
Beautifully located in the mountains. Unfortunately packed at this time of year, however, quiet like most camps in the park. The ‘rhino walk’ on the camp perimeter is a must do. Almost as good as a bush walk! The drive around the mountains spectacular. Saw much wildlife. Plan to come back during off season to get a site along the fence by the river.
Report Check-InNice and not busy after school holidays.
A must is the walk beside the fence. Encounter Elephants very close!
During the day, monkeys all over the campsite and in and out of your car when you don't close the door/window. Very anoying!
No lights after dusk at waterhole. So, you here a lot of splashing but you can only guess wich animal wettened your face ;-)
During the night "singing" of Hyena.
Ablusion and sink is oké. Extra service is the hot water cooker. Instand boiling water.
Price for campsite 2 people and car R285.
We did not think it was too bad, big campingsite that was fully booked but had a cancellation so we got a spot.
We felt there was still more then enough space for a couple more cars or tents.
Ablutions are ok, the shower constantly turned hot and cold which was annoying(only at the ladies bathroom).
We paid R308.5,- for two people and a car. We did not think the price was too bad as we got two whole days from 6AM to 6PM in the park whilst paying the parks' entrance fee only once.
Report Check-InBig campsite, power and water on site, had the feeling there are more people than there are actual sites as all power plugs were taken. Sites are not defined, you make up your own site. During our 3 nights here, everyone went to bed at 9pm, got up 5.30am. Lots of retirees. Show free movies during weekdays 6-7pm. Paid 305R for site! No Wi-Fi.
Report Check-InBig camp, all sites with electricity under trees, good ablutions. You can do a walk along the fence, often with Rhinos sightings. Price is 274 for two, additional Person 82R/ 41R(child).
Report Check-InCamped at the very end of the campsite at the river. Every night are two hyenas patrolling along the fence as well as a curious African Civet. Inside the fenced area, near the bush, is a Serval cat a regular visitor.
Report Check-InCamped on the end of the Campsite downhill where you can park next to the fence
Report Check-InBerg-en-dal campsite.
big spacious site, nicely set out with very good facilities, lovely pool, wildlife film shown at night under the stars.
overlook of a busy waterhole / dam.
elephants come most afternoons at 3 ish and then walk back along the camp fence line, good opportunity to get VERY close.
Certainly not a bad site and should be perhaps described as a 'family orientated' site which would probably mean it gets very busy and crowded during any school holidays.
we visited end Nov 2016
paid R252
