Description

Hard to believe this campground is in a city, it's very quiet at night. A long drive from Chisec due to the Tumulos (speed bumps) the road is a main artery from Flores to Guatemala City so lots of trucks etc. and people that live in small villages all along the road!!

Wonderful and quiet place. We were alone there and have a great time. Toilette are okay, showers are cold because the electricity is broken.
Pay 135 Q for two persons, it is for the stay and the park entrece fee. Think it's worth it.

Report Check-In

We are deep in the Parque National Victoria and the ONLY ones here! It is beautiful! No idea where others are camping when coming to Coban. Vitallino lives on the property and was so friendly and helpful. Adding up the Parque entry, pp plus vehicle entry & overnight camping it was $135QZ for 2 per night. We paid for 2 & may stay 3! It’s dark at night, quiet and beautiful!

Report Check-In

Nice place but to expensive and the owner is not pretty friendly

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a mostly quiet night after driving up from Peten on our way to Lanquin. 135Q for two people, entry to the park and camping. Ran electrical cord to bathroom. People who work in the offices of the admin building arrived a few minutes before 8 so picked up the cord.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 4:40 and gate was closed but not locked. We opened the gate and drove in and met the groundskeeper on the road in. He told us camping was now 135Q for the two of us and our van. We offered 90 and asked why it had increased and we understood something like since Feb 1 the price went up. Not sure, not great with Spanish. Beautiful peaceful spot though. We moved on to the orchid farm down the road!

Report Check-In

Well apparently they have raised the official prices as of February 1st: 30 per person for camping, plus 25 per person for admission the park (foreigners), plus 25 for our "big" van, for a grand total of 135 for two people and the van. This price seems ridiculous for the facilities offered here. We stayed because we came so late, otherwise we would have left. Tomorrow we will just pay for a room in a hostel.

Such a great spot right in the middle of the big city! Very friendly employees, a playground for our daughter to play in for hours, and a very quiet night's sleep.

Report Check-In

What a great place. In the middle of the city but very quiet. With Palapas, barbecue, tables and clean bathrooms. Very friendly. If you come back later, someone can open the gate for you. Stayed here two nights.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

beautiful tropical-forest in the middle of town, 90Q for two people, lukewarm clean showers and toilets, wild spidermonkey visited us at site, had some great dog-walks here (over two hours on wonderful paths through the forest).
we loved this place, also Coban

Report Check-In

Small campground. Entrance fee Q10/person + Q10/vehicle, camping 30/person.

Report Check-In

Q90 total for two people 1 vehicle. Very quiet at night. Office workers during the day but still quiet. Grassy area now blocked off except for a very small portion. Camping on concrete is better during the rain anyway. Guard sleeps in building at night. Seems very safe. Warm showers if you keep the water pressure low.

Report Check-In

Q90/night for two people plus vehicle. Flush toilets. Close to bus lines.

Report Check-In

Easy to find, 90 Q total fee for two people. Parked on the concrete pad just across the bathrooms. No wifi but good 3G reception on Tigo. Gate closes at 6 pm, opens at 6 am. Showers are hot!

Report Check-In

Great location close to the town, playground for kiddos. Super quiet at night.

Report Check-In

90q for two people. Great location near town, note that you need to be back in the park by 6pm when the gate is locked. Also thanks to the Nomadizens for the gate GPS info

Report Check-In

Our GPS had troubles finding the park with the coordinates listed on iOverlander, since the campsite is a ways back into the park. Here are the coordinates for the park entrance: N15.47326, W90.38063.

Bathrooms were clean. Extensive network of hiking trails, but it was raining when we were there so we didn't explore.

Report Check-In

Nice huge park in town coban. The is a gate (and guard?) at the entrance, so we felt very save all time. Large grassy place to camp or you can stand on the paved parking area (if you rig is not to lage). If you stand at the parking area you can connect to a power plug at bathroom. Showers are hot. Flush toilets. Entrance fee to the park 10Q pp. Camping 30Q pp. Additional 10Q for the car. Walking distance to the local marked is about 15min. No wifi. Quiet. Cool because of the attitude (1350m?). Note: Driving distance from/to Candelaria Grutas is 2,5h ( don't drive a night/ road has quite a lot of potholes). Driving distance from/to Semuc Champey is 3h (we haven't been there but they say you may need 4x4)

Report Check-In

- look for a large metal gate north of the street
- price was 10 Q per person entrance, 30 Q per person camping and 10 Q per car (which was probably "unofficial"). That makes 90 Q for the two of us.
- there is a nice lawn you could probably park on, but since it was raining, we parked next to a covered concrete "patio"
- warm showers, flushing toilets
- they said they lock the gate to the park at 6 pm, but it was negotiable
- quiet location in the botanical garden, touristic police patrols the place, so it was probably very secure

Report Check-In

Hard to believe this campground is in a city, it's very quiet at night. Good place to overnight between Tikal and Antigua, or if you're heading to Lanquin/Semuc Champey and get delayed.
