Parking area at the laguna. There is an ancient burial tomb on the little hill adjacent. You can drive anywhere you like and find a sheltered spot for a few days of wild camping. Only Bitel (viettel) coverage. Tracks were wet but ground is solid, not muddy at all.

This point is right in the middle of the Lagoon

Passamos duas noites aqui! O lugar é de difícil acesso por conta da má condição da estrada, mas valeu a pena! É muito bonito!

Still a great spot to stay. We stayed near the trees but everywhere is fine to stay. Quiet, some day touristas: sup, view the lake, but absolutely calm. Only Bitel. (viettel) coverage. Tracks were wet but ground is solid, not muddy at all.

Amazing place to camp. Arrived here in a Saturday and there was a local family who hiked around the laguna and then left at around 3 PM. Had the whole place for myself afterwards. you can go up the hill to visit the prehispanic mausoleum and have a great view of the lagoon and the ruins. A bit windy but possible to build a campfire. There is a basic pit toilet near the pine trees.

Gorgeous, half drained lake with views of the peaks. A not-so-friendly llama charged at us when we first arrived here - funniest this we have ever seen! Lol. We moved over here after leaving the lodge, as it was too hot and exposed over there to be able to enjoy the place. Here we got a good breeze, and spectacular views. I don't understand the other instructions provided to get here - I would think that taking the track from the llanganuco Lodge (after coming up the pass on the main road that goes in to the national park) is the easiest way to get here. Maps.me displays the path to this lake as a walking track, but it's easily accessible by vehicle (granted it was dry when we came - in the wet it might be a different story) .

Very quiet and beautiful surrondings. A very good place to spend the night.
