Chile
Nice little lake which you can swim in. Little campground which is a bit dirty. All free. There is a gate at the main road but no lock and locals said we can enter. Help to clean up a bit. Dirt road is very bumpy so you need off-roader to enter.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Different owners now. We met a man close by and he informed us. He doesn’t know if you can still stay here. The gate was broken down but we didn’t want to go on property uninvited..
Report Check-InHector was around on zaterdagacteren kon. On Sunday he arrived at 10 to open thé gate of his 5000 ha plot. 200 cows running around but dung is cleaner on thé campsite. Very dry region end of summer. But smal spring still Running. Watertemperature of thé embalse was very nice but thé standing water looked a bit dirty for swimming. Very quiet place.
Report Check-InWe camped at the spot for 6 nights in our VW T2. Usually, Héctor, the administrator, opens the gates on the weekends and it it closed during the week. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were allowed to stay one week. Thanks to Hector's work, the place is now really clean (the toilets have been stolen though...). Hector, (who's number is on the gate) is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of this beautiful place. We got some moonlit visits by a couple of horses. The entrance fee is 5.000 Chilean pesos per vehicle (not more than 4 people). We loved the place because we were there on our own, it provides shade and clean drinking water from a natural fountain. no 4x4 needed for access but not for very big vehicles.
Report Check-InThe little track is now locked. The lake is part of a natural reserva. You can still camp there by calling the number at the entrance. It'a 5000 pesos by car. The lake is nice and there is some toilets that you can use on the other side. 4x4 not needed but big rigs won't be able to go on the side where the toilets are.
