We love this place! Have stayed here three times and were even able to store our van here when we had to go back to states for a few months. Del and Kate are lovely hosts and super informative about best roads to take (we’re heading back north now). There are nice bathrooms with hot showers, electricity, water hookups, and lots of space for your rig. It’s walking distance to laundry, fruit/veg market, purificadora, and restaurants and the town of Tlacolula is a short bus ride/drive with atms, markets, etc. Overall we definitely recommend it! Nice and convenient!

Report Check-In

Perfect place, we stay 4 nights here. The guy is so cool. Offer us a beer when we arrived the first time. He speaks English(perfect). He is very friendly.
The showers are nice and clean, as the toilets. I Recommend this place.
225 pesos pn for the car.

Report Check-In

This was one of the best locations we have found. We were so happy to just relax and enjoy the beautiful area! they have implemented some permiculture to their land, its really beautiful. The showers were the best we have had in all of Mexico. great pressure and HOT!! everything was clean and well kept. Del and Kate go to great lengths to make this a little paradise. Everything is as described in proximity to all centers. This is great place for dogs! Just be sure to pick up after them. and everybody is very friendly! we really enjoyed our stay. Del an Kate are so welcoming! They also have different activities going on during the week, when we showed up they had a movie night going on. great place to store your vehicle for a few days or months. They will be gone for summer, but have a super nice and friendly caretaker named Jose who lives on the property while their gone. this place is amazing dont miss it if your planning to check out this area! the markets are amazing and so are the mountains.

Report Check-In

Perfect for exploring the area. Owners are friendly and helpful! Bathrooms actually had toilet paper and there were hot showers!

Great camping to use as a base to explore Oaxaca and surrounding, with easy access to Oaxaca Centro by bus -10 pesos per head, from the parada on highway 190 on the north (campground) side in front if a little restaurant that serves one of the best pollo en mole negro. Look for a green and white bus that says Centro, and get off near Estadio Eduardo Vasconcelos, then walk about a mile to Centro). Return is the reverse, ask the driver to stop at Lachigolo. Same bus stops at Santa Maria del Tule to see the Tule tree. To go to Tlocolula de Matamoros where the Sunday market is a must see, take the same green and white bus on the other side of the highway, get off at Tlocolula stop, and walk down the main street on the right). Same bus goes to Mitla but I recommend booking a day tour (10 am to 7pm) with Optimus Tours by dropping in at their office beside the Zocalo de Oaxaca a day or two ahead. 200 pesos to see the Tule tree, a very fascinating artisanal carpet maker, a small fabrica de mezcal, Mitla, Hierve el Agua. Same price for the other tour that includes Monte Alban and 3 other sites. campground might be closed from April 15 to October so inquire with Del before heading there.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay, so close to the many wonders of The Valley of Oaxaca. Easy and inexpensive connections into the city or the outlying villages. The campground is clean, safe and well maintained. We spent a week and will be spending much more time here in the future.

There is some noise from the brick factory nearby, but it is very quiet at night. The showers are the best we have come across in our travels around México. Very friendly people.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot to relax after a long trip from south or north. Warm showers, very helpful owners and only a short trip by bus to the city centre makes it an ideal place to hike in the Sierra and to enjoy citylife in Oaxaca..

@bathjurgen
i talked with the owners. they told me that the neighbors watch sometimes for there ground when nobody’s there. but normally one o them is always there

Anyway, that’s an awesome place. you get a full hock up for a fairly price and the owners are really nice and friendly.

Report Check-In

Sorry to read about the camper's experience about arriving at night in early October 2018 and not finding anyone here. We had assigned caretakers to be available for campers (they live across the road so are usually attentive). We travel to Canada in the summer months and had not yet arrived back. When we are here we do not both leave the property at the same time - always one of us here day and night. Now that we are aware of this disappointed camper's experience we will either be on duty ourselves - or have someone living on premises to make sure this does not happen again. This is an extremely safe part of Mexico and there have never been any safety issues in regards to stored RVs or campers. We would be very happy if this camper would give us another try. Again, apologies. Del and Kate.

Report Check-In

I puled into this place the other evening with the intention on staying a couple of nights and storing my truck wile I was in Mexico city for a week. The gate was open so I pulled in but there was nobody around except two young men who saw me and left through the bush side of the property that has no wall or fence.
I could not find any one so I moved on.

Report Check-In

Wow. We really enjoyed staying here for over a week. Hosts Kate and Del (Canadians) are wonderful and know the area inside out. There is lots of room and it is very quiet. Wifi is fast! Full hookups with good water pressure. Spotlessly clean washrooms. Easy bus connection west to city centre and Monte Alban and east to Tlacolula. Good walks to north along hillsides. If you need any vehicle work done, this is the place. We might make this our winter base in future! 275 pesos per night.

Such a nice park. The owners are Canadian. Del and Kate are fantastic hosts. Kate watched over our dogs when we went on tours.
There are Hot showers, electric and sewer at most sites.
Don't use google maps to get you there. Go to Oaxaca's Camoground webpage and use their directions

Report Check-In

Great campground. Owners are so nice and are Canadians. Don’t follow GPS as it takes you in the backdoor. Kat will watch the dogs so great!!

Report Check-In

Owners are so nice.. watched our dogs too

Report Check-In

All info = correct. Kate and Del are very helpful and welcoming.
Went to the sundaymarket in Tlacolula bij public transport. Very colorful. We also liked El Tule very much.

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights. Kate welcomed us warmly upon arrival. There was only one other truck/camper when we arrived - we were surprised because it was Muertos. We didn’t use electricity as it was very cool at night. There are 9 RV stations, but so much room for tent camping as well. The showers were hot! There’s very little shade. $200 pesos/night without electricity. We had Kate watch our dog while we went into the city for Muertos celebrations - bonus that they do dog watching :). A short walk to the highway - there is a bus station called Lochigilo - you can catch a bus into Oaxaca city for $10 pesos/person and the run very often. Bus takes about 25 minutes.

Report Check-In

We had this place all to ourselves. Not much to it really - one big field with toilets, showers and hooks ups. Decent stop before we properly got on the road.

Report Check-In

Very convenient. couple endemic birds on site and in the scrub above (rufous-backed thrush, grey-breasted woodpecker, oaxaca Sparrow)

Report Check-In

Very nice campground with wonderful hot showers and free wifi. I even got a great haircut from Tamara who is in charge of the campground. We loved it here

Report Check-In

Friendly manager's. Big open space with no shade or protection from the wind.
Other posts say it is fenced but only on two sides. Noisy factory next door but they are trying to build a green noise barrier.

Report Check-In

Very friendly people and a good place. The new bathrooms are ready in a few days. That is good.

This is a great spot located just outside of Oaxaca. It's easy to grab a taxi or drive in. A large flat gated area with views of the surrounding mountains. There is a brick and wood shop operation in the area. It makes some noise during the day, but not obnoxious. We stayed here a week o er Christmas and we're treated to a great Christmas dinner hosted by the owners. Lots of space, electric, water, and sewer right at each site. WiFi is included. Laundry service available wirhin ealking distance. $12 pesos/kilo. Excellent fruit and veggie stand walking distance. Well worth the visit!

Report Check-In

A much needed alternative to Overlander Oasis- large campground a couple of miles from OO. Large, grassy lot, hot showers, public area, etc. nice managers and very dog friendly. 200mx/night walking to a couple small fiends and public transport into town.

Report Check-In

Nice campground. It is a bit outside of Oaxaca but conveniently located so you can reach the city easily with public transport. Good shower with hot water and high pressure. As already mentioned only one bathroom for the whole campground but we were the only ones so wasn't a problem. Lots of flies and mosquitoes, not the best place to sit outside.

Report Check-In

Large space for several Rigs with full hook up. Laidback owner. Our dog and our Kids were happy. Relatively close to the city and main attractions.

Report Check-In

Fantastic campsite !!! Beautiful view of the mountains, a breath of fresh air !! And there is toilet paper in the toilets, a rare commodity in Mexico campsites:) The owner is very welcoming and my pets love it here.

Report Check-In

Nice host, plenty of space, internet, hot showers. Dog friendly!

Report Check-In

Good place, like previous reviews. Cheap laundry across the street on the main road. Toilet / shower combination, just one. Interesting when 2 caravans pull in and you have to share with 20 rigs. But they are building more facilities. Easy and cheap shared taxi rides to Oaxaca.

Full service campground, water, sewer, electric hookups in a safe, gated rural setting. 18 kms from Oaxaca City centre, pet friendly, free wifi, hot shower.

Report Check-In

New campground about 20km out of Oaxaca. There is only one shower/restroom for the hole campground, but we were only two vehicles and had therefore no problems. The water taps and power outlets aren't installed right now, but should follow... There was loud music playing all day at the nearby belneario nearby.
