Description

MODERATOR NOTE: User reports this place is permanently closed.

About a 1/4 mile from Highway 385. Right onto first gravel road then about another 1/4 mile to a turn around spot and gate. Level and packed gravel. Not suitable for bigger rigs or long trailers. An informal fire ring was here. Can hear some traffic from the highway. Otherwise pretty quiet.

Large Closed Road sign right off the main road. And the spot to pull in to this marking has a clear pile of tree debris laid out to stop you.

Report Check-In

not a bad spot to spend the night if you're visiting wind cave np. noticeable road noise, but flat and easy to level. our 25' truck camper fit just fine.

Google calls it Cold Springs School Rd. Pulled in here after finding the next place up the road occupied. Right up against posted private property gate. Shared with another van. Very close to 385, but no cell service, Verizon or AT&T. Headed to Wind Cave NP so we'll live off the grid one night.

Report Check-In

Fine spot for the night. Only 10-15 min from Wind Cave NP. Got there mid afternoon and some people in a UTV drove along the road and turned around by the gate, but didn't stop to say anything. No signal on Tmobile or Google Fi. Traffic noise was noticeable outside but we couldn't hear it in the bus.

Report Check-In

As described. I took the first two track trail to the right and found a great spot. Not suitable for large rigs or trailers without walking it first as the turn around at the end is not huge. My rig is 20 feet long and 12 feet tall. No problems.
