Something not right?

Description

Although somewhat close to the street, it was quiet at night. Small meadow for camping. Bathroom clean and even gad soap. Shower very rustic, but good (cold) water jet.

From here it is 5 minutes walk to the amazing hot waterfalls. Approximately 100m BEFORE the waterfall you can walk across the river, and walk along the path on the waterfalls. There you can lie in the much warmer water. Under the waterfall, you can also climb inside and spend hours let the warm water raining down on yourself. At the weekend as always crowded, so you should be on weekdays only here! 25QZ/Person for Accommodation and entrance to the waterfall.

Latest Check-Ins

Loud camping next to the road. Came in late and stayed for we did not want to seek something else.
30 qz per person for rather new toilets and an awful ducha with frigs and dogshit inside. Did not use.
Restaurant has beer and some beverages. Nothing really recommendable.

The place next to the restaurant is not very even, either.
In the end it was okay but pricey for what you get.

Report Check-In

Waterfalls are amazing. We early spent two days here! (figured it was the only spa we will be able to afford!) Camping not wonderful, toilets were dirty but shower block was clean if simple (no light or hooks for example). The owner was not really helpful. Obviously only thing great is waterfall. She charged us 30 Quetzals each for camping and admission (maybe because we had our van?)

great spot apart from road noise. owners super nice. kids are a bit if a hassle but they had a lot if fun learning how to play fetch with my dog. they certainly know how to beg don't give them money unless you're actually buying something.

tell them "figgy said hello" they will all laugh. (my dog's name)

we paid Q50 for 2 adults, 2 kids, and dog to sleep and use falls. honestly the falls seem to be free to us. I think if you just want to swim you could park and walk up.

Prices per person:
- 15Q for the waterfall: the waterfall was surprisingly HOT! My boyfriend couldn't even stay under it. Too bad the pool below is brown, otherwise it would've been perfect
- 15Q for camping: the road noise is not too bad, beats sleeping at a gas station. Facilities are ok. The local kids are a bit pushy but they only charge 5Q for a coco
- 20Q for lunch or dinner: rather small portions but cheap and ok food (lunch came with a nice fresh juice made with bottled water)

Paid 15q per person to camp and 15q per person to go to waterfalls. Plugged in to electric and ran AC from camping area next to restaurant. Falls close at 5pm. Restaurant may close at 6 or 7 if the cook is around. Road noise barely noticeable with fans. Dogs enjoyed the walk and swim. Showers cold from a pipe but clean. Toilets dirty, no seats, no paper.
NOTE- this place is called Turístico Paraíso (Finca Paraíso is 2k down the dirt road across the street, a lakefront swimming area with cabana and restaurant)

They charged us now 30Q each.
At least clean facilities.

Great spot for a night.
We loved the hot waterfall and camping was fine.
Cold beer and good food in restaurant.
Super friendly hosts and neighbourhood kids.

Love the hot waterfalls but the camping is a bit rough. $50 Q for two adults and two children. Our third time staying here. Allowed us access to electricity.

The hot waterfall, the little hike to it, and the river are 100% worth the less then ideal camping. Your not right on the road, but you can see it and definitely hear it. We go to bed early and it was way to noisy to sleep, but later it got quieter! We did not use shower, the hot waterfall was good enough for us. The bathrooms are clean, you need your own TP, and yes there are crazy amounts of mosquitos in them. The locals stared...all of them...alot....They don't get many gringo tourists. The kids know how to beg! They were really fascinated by my camera and the screen where they could see what I was filming. 25Q includes entrance to falls. You may use the traditional woodfire kitchen and sink for dishes. We ran an extention cord to restaurant for power, no extra charge.

25Q/person for entrance and camping. grassy area next to the highway. nasty toilet we did not use. pretty good outdoor-showers, though.

Still cheap, no facilities, but one of the best hot springs / waterfall ever. Very nice owners and many kids, maybe bring some fruits.

This is for the restaurant next to main road in Finca El Paraiso which is 10 min walking to the hot springs waterfalls. There is also camping 2km down a dirt road next to the lake (also in finca el paraiso). We paid 25 Quetzales per person and includes entrance to the waterfalls. Camped on nice grassy area. Toilets need to be flushed with a bucket. Access to electricity.

Flat, grassy campground only 10 min walk from Cascada Aguas Calientes, one of the best water experiences yet on our trip! Pretty noisy because it is right next to the road and the owners of the restaurant started playing music early in the morning but it's a good spot. 25q per person, which includes access to the waterfall, no wifi, restaurant, kind of dirty bathrooms, no showers. We *were* able to plug into one of the outlets in the restaurant, so getting electricity is possible. Super friendly hosts, too!

Beautiful! Quiet at night for us (Semana Santa). 26Q for entrance and camping (per person)

Report Check-In

Great location for beating the crowds to the the falls in the evening or morning. Cheap beers at the restaurant. Friendly owner, road was pretty noisy at night with big trucks hauling by quite fast. Not much privacy being right on the road, but nice grassy spot & wold be okay for tents too.
