MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced
Nice pull off that is shielded from the road by a large rock. You can circle around fully and can hide yourself well from traffic. Plus is that you can also climb the rock. No amenities ~ no troubles. Bathrooms down the road
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
US Army Corps ranger literally just drove up at 8pm and put a sign in the ground to designate no parking. she stated this is at all the pull offs.
consider this closed.
Report Check-InPark ranger came up to us and let us stay but said after tonight they are cracking down on camping in pullouts. Looks like it’ll no longer be allowed
Report Check-Inwe stayed here for 2 nights, but the second night an army corps of engineers ranger came to kick us out. we asked why there was no signage if overnight parking is not allowed and she claimed at all theirs signs had been stolen. she was quite rude and said that overnight camping on ALL lake Kaweah pull offs is not allowed either. I think it's a ploy to get people to stay at the pay campground, because coincidentally the campground opened for the season the day after the ranger booted us from the pull out. regardless I'd say be prepared to get kicked out of the pull offs if you try to park there during the summer. sucks because this lake is gorgeous and we wanted to stay longer.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot to see the sunrise! Noisy at first due to the roads but after the sunset it gets quiet. Amazing view of the surrounding mountains along with the sound of the water flowing through. If you bring your binoculars, you may see a bear in the distance!
Report Check-InGreat place for the night! After the sun went down, the road traffic noise was almost non existent. We were the only van here - quiet, only the sound of the river and the frogs.
Report Check-InAs described, other van parked when we got there but big enough for two rigs with plenty of room. Few cars passing early on but quite as night went on. Sound of river flowing is super nice
Report Check-InGood place to spend the night. Nice view of the surrounding mountains. Can’t really see the lake tho. Good cell service. Unfortunately some trash on the floor :/
Report Check-InCozy little nook behind the rock. T-mobile cellular service. Beautiful views right off the the 98.
Report Check-InExactly as described, a nice spot close to the foothills entrance of Sequoia national Park. Stayed here for one night and was fine, I wouldn’t push it more than that as you’re fairly close to the highway.
Report Check-InStaying here tonight and it’s beautiful! Just a small turnout, able to hide yourself behind a large rock. Near enough to the road to hear traffic but not bad. Just here for the night; no “no camping” signs.
