4th trip through Chile and first visit here. Definitely with a photo stop
Report Check-InWow this place is busy! There is a constant coming and going by cars - and big semi trucks - from the highway, stopping for photos. We arrived late afternoon and it was extremely windy, blowing from the north. We camped for one night just north of the statue on a little hump. The wind quietened down after the sun set. Our fan blocked out any traffic and tourist noise at night. Having people around allows for family portraits. :)
Report Check-InMano del Desierto. Here a gigantic hand-shaped sculpture comes out of the sand. It's very pretty and you can take beautiful photos.

Report Check-InGreat stop to do a nice picture of your van and have a break ;)
No phone signal
what a beautiful Statue, totally worth the stop! you can really make great pictures
Report Check-InIconic statue you have to take a picture with if you visit the north of Chile! It is beautiful.
Report Check-InMeh… what you see in the photos is what you get. It’s just a hand with a little bit of graffiti on the side of a busy highway. Wasn’t worth a detour from the B710 to us, but if you’re driving by, might as well?
Report Check-InBetter with the sunset view for the photos. We were alone to take out pictures.
Report Check-InEasy to get to and really quite the statue to see. Worth a quick stop on the way to Santiago or Antofagasta.
Report Check-InWorth a stop. Oddity. Easy access off and on Hwy. 5.
