Description

THIS PLACE SHOUKD BE DELETED

Checked licencse and Aduana papers but really they wanted a 10bol bribe for "not going with a tour agency." We didn't pay "without receipt".

not even any indication that there is ever a checkpoint. this point should be marked for deletion.

Still no police or checkpoint... 👮🏽‍♂️

Note 4-July18: you have to cross some salty water to access the salar (~30-40cm).
We just followed some tour cars to find the right way. Possible with a 2WD with high clearance.

we didn't see police (Sunday and leaving Monday)

Me too, no checkpoint. Good access to the salar. Don't drive to fast on the salar, beware of potholes.

No police or checkpoint.

No Checkpoint (anymore?)

no police today, water in salar, no passar, no 4x4

In the rainy season there's no Checkpoint. Spend the night here. A big salt Lake formed here so this is the furthest you can drive on normal roads. Beautiful sunset and nice to walk in the salar.

No police today

No checkpoint when we passed by. Remember the rule - 'no motorcycle? No car? Can't follow me? Not a cop!' just wave and go on by. Lol.

nobody was here when we were here . Arrived after dark, but couldnt see any sign of a checkpoint.

A cop was there when we drove in. He asked to see all our paper work and stamped the back of our temporary import permit. He then said we had to pay 5bol/car. When we asked for a receipt he said the stamp was our receipt. We argued for a bit but eventually paid. A cop was also there two days later when we left the Salar.

there was no sign of a check point, when we drove through twice
