9th and final step! Come here with the release documents, sign some papers and you are good to go! But don't celebrate too early. You will need to exit by the back entrance and queue with all the cargo trucks. We waited over two hours, cooking inside our van under the warm 45c sun.

But yay, victory, we have our van! In total, we paid 15mxn for muellage, 1582mxn for SSA and 1228 for the import permit. Keep in mind we have a small VW Combi. Enjoy Mexico!

7th step. Car inspection. Make sure you have you port permit from SSA to enter. Once inside the port, walk to SSA (5 mon). Present yourself then wait for Aduana. I was in and out the port under 1 hour, easy peasy.

We came here for the inspection and found that the seals that Ana Rodriguez in Cartagena gave us, were broken. Two cars coming from Colombia, both broken in to and completely searched and lots of stuff taken.

You can get permission to go here before you're invited for the inspection and before the paperwork is complete (see document that Ana gives out). Next time, I'd pay a surprise visit here asking to see the car (and inspect seals).

This is the right place for the inspection. Enter the port on the big entrance right after the bridge on the right and then walk here. Long pants, t-shirt with sleeves and shoes
