Down a paved road next to the park, turn right for gravel parking area.
This is the only parking lot in and around town that doesn't say "no overnight parking", although there is a sign on the grassy area leading to the park saying "no camping". We asked around - no one seemed to know if we could stay here, but they also didn't seem to mind if we did.
There are public washrooms in the park that close at 11pm, and you have a great views of the bay, steps from the beach.
If you need later toilets - there's outhouses at the end of the road (Lake Superior access beach).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We spent one night here without issues. However we were paranoid all night that someone was going to knock on our window and ask us to leave so we didn’t sleep very well. There was some music playing until 11 pm but after that it was very quiet. As others have mentioned- there is one sign on the grass that says no camping but nothing that mentions no overnight parking - it’s a grey area.
Report Check-InThere are now about 5 signs that say "no overnight parking". Another one bites the dust...
Report Check-InSpent evening at the Tavern down the street, spoke with several locals who knew nothing about the overnight situation. They did comment the often see overnighter a few miles east along the road in pull outs on the road which are by the water.
after retiring for the night, it was all quiet and a beautiful sight/ spot to drink a coffee in the morning.
Little parking area near beach. I didn't see the potable water. But does have bathroom within the park. We spent 1 night here. Had a few locals ask to see inside our van, no issues otherwise.
