Like described! Big thanks @mischling for sharing this guys. We had some major Wheel suspension problems on our T4 Syncro and we got the best service possible for a decent price. He renewed the whole parts in not even one day in cooperation with other companies and after a bit more than one day we were back on the road. We were friendly invited to sleep in our van inside the workshop (or in the bed they have in a separate room) with toilet, potable water & shower. Manuel is an awesome mechanic and a passionate VW fan, and his bunch of young but skilled employees are a nice crew as well. Absolutely recommended!

Note: he’s since a while not exact at this place anymore, but just a bit up the road in direction of the city center. His number from the original post is still correct. Ask him for current coordinates, since he’ll move to a new, final place in a while.

Manuel is a very good, trustworthy and very helpfull car mechanic. His workshop is simple but his skills exceeded our expectations. VW fan and enjoys what he does. Is very knowledgable where to find spare parts, within Costa Rica or different car model. If not available in the country Manuel in many cases finds a local guy to fabricate it before having to order them from abroad. VW Oldtimer owners come from San Jose to work on them. Has a passion to restore Combis, Vanagon and Syncros.

His dad works in the same field focused on carburators.

You can camp on the workshop grounds. We were offered water and shower and could even do our laundry. As you can see very, very helpfull but please be gratefull.
