Description

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Clean very secure with a touch of Mexican flair its run by Joaquin and his daughter. Maribel (his daughter) speaks very good English. Both are incredibly friendly and will help you with whatever your looking for. Cost is now 250pesos/person. He also arranged tours to different local areas. Highly suggest going up to see or hike pico de orizaba (3rd highest mountain in all of North America). Also lots of mountain biking and other hiking in the area. Can't sing their praises enough, they welcome you into their home and treat you like family.

Latest Check-Ins

We slept here after pico de orizaba. People were really nice. room prices were ok (15 dollar pp/night), but the meals were pretty expensive for what we got (12 dollar dinner, 10 dollar breakfast). we wanted to pay in pesos and she wanted to have far more, then we would have payed in dollar. Showed her the exchange rate, still wanted 1400 pesos. People were really nice, but would not stay again.

Very friendly staff and a nice hot shower. The beds are pretty comfortable and the location is great to get to the mountain. the price is now 250 pesos for a night and 90 pesos for a delicious breakfast. If you wanted to climb the mountain I think they do tours here but I did not personally do one. Instead I rode my motorcycle up to the base camp.

There is not much of a sign, but the GPS is pretty spot on. It was 150 per person. On the upper side of price for us. Clean restrooms, hot showers. The room was packed with beds. This place is set up as a base to climb the third largest peak. I think they get big groups. We were the only guests. The beds were not comfortable, been around for a long time. More of a hammock. The owners are incredibly kind! We checked out the base camp one day, and hiked up a bit, but altitude sickness wanted to set in. Get good direction. Have 4x4. GPS and Google maps helped us get lost for hours. The people are so nice, and food in town is very cheap. We would have stayed longer to explore more hiking, but the price combo with uncomfortable bed had us leave after two nights. They serve food here too and it's a lot of food. Internet is only ok early morning.
