Quiet, dispersed spot south of the lake. Decent Verizon signal.

October 1st, 2021 Mother Lode Fairgrounds

County fairgrounds with year round RV and camper van parking. We stayed one night on our way to Bodie. Sonora is a great historic town.

Camp host is super nice. Hookups if you need them. Full facilities with wonderful large showers! $35/night. Quiet with four bars on Verizon.

August 5th, 2021 Fairgrounds RV Park

Rolled by. Closed until Aug 9 for an event. Seems fine. Didn’t get to find out what the current fees are. In the parking lot are free COVID tests. Decent VZW bars.

Did not stay.

August 2nd, 2021 Bruceport County Park and Campground

Quiet camp in forest. Restrooms are old yet functional. Seems like a nice place to sit and read.

Good VZW signal.

August 1st, 2021 Lot just north of South Bend boat ramp

Checked out this spot. Still being used by RVs for overnights. Portable toilets. Quirky town and lovely river! We opted to continue to Bruceport.

July 25th, 2021 FREE forest camping

Tranquil spot along the 138. There is signage on the highway to follow. Pit toilet. Campfire rings and a rock stove. Free! The bugs can be annoying but we set up a bait of food while we ate and chilled to draw them away.

At time of visit, restrooms are closed. No showers! Site has portable toilets only. Host can be friendly and grumpy.

Quiet, tranquil campsites. Pit toilets. Almost one bar for Verizon. Great spot to unwind, sleep well, and watch the chipmunks.

December 20th, 2020 Arches NP

In Devil’s Garden campground, spot #24 is amazing! Fantastic panoramic view. Wander behind the amphitheater for close access to an arch!

December 19th, 2020 Kings Bottom

Amazing frozen views of the canyons and Colorado River. Absolutely silent at night. $20 to camp. We visited in Dec 2020. Cold but worth it. There’s a pit toilet. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring.

December 18th, 2020 Rest Stop

Quiet. 24/7 restrooms. Windy! Nice picnic area when it isn’t winter.

December 18th, 2020 Walmart parking lot

Lots of other campers. Gets quiet after the store closes at 11p. Nice to have a spot near Denver.

Quiet with access to very clean restrooms.

December 13th, 2020 Murray Blvd-Ashley River Charleston SC

Stayed on a Saturday night. Pretty quiet between midnight and 8am. No one bothered us. Slept well. Good Verizon signal. Was able to stream.

Travel plaza with showers, laundry, quickie store, gas, and Subway. Near other restaurants. Shower is $12.

December 12th, 2020 Forsyth Park

Quiet and calm during night. Stayed on a Friday night. Saturday morning woke earlier than planned to a farmer’s market! Restroom in park closes early. Other restrooms nearby by in American Legion where Betty’s Bombers is, and in the Bean coffee shop. Both those businesses are tasty and recommended.

Across the highway from Old Sheldon Church ruins is an open land grant space.

December 8th, 2020 Coral Sands RV Park

Good Sam RV resort. Has hookups and showers. On the beach! Gorgeous views with beach access.

Quiet, dark. Good spot to catch some z’s.

December 3rd, 2020 Miami North Beach P107

Public parking that is free after 6pm and before 8am. Quiet. Restroom, across the street, closes at 8pm but more like 7.30pm.

December 2nd, 2020 Loves Travel Plaza

Standard truck stop with 24/7 access to restrooms, quickie store supplies, and showers. We arrived about 9.30pm. Able to wedge in between semis. Got free white noise from the truckers! Sound sleep. Good 4G signal on Verizon

Quiet, secure, has toilets 24/7. Easy spot to rest for the night.

November 17th, 2020 Fort Lancaster Scenic Overlook Pic Nic Area

Amazing view! We got to see the sheep. Very quiet. Highly recommend.

November 16th, 2020 BLM Carlsbad district

Quiet boondocking spot. Light highway noise really isn’t a problem inside van. Good cell service if you need to work.
