This guy is fantastic. His name is Alex, he speaks a little English. He really knows his stuff and he’s a lovely human. We needed a specific part and he drove us around to several places until we found it and even passed us his shop discount to help us out. When we drove away and something wasn’t right, he walked to the gas station where we were to help us out again.
Really recommend.

January 13th, 2021 Don Eddies

I’d give this place a meeeeh. 300 pesos is a lot for what it is- a gravel pit and a luke warm shower. Tony was accommodating but seemed kind of grumpy. I guess they don’t get a lot of tourists with the pandemic on. The restaurant was closed when we were there but they made me an over priced margarita anyway while I sat inside and used the wifi which was decent. The gate was suppose to open at 7am but we waited around for an hour before anyone showed up. The phone number seems to be disconnected. Fine place to crash if you are out of options.

January 13th, 2021 Do it yourself Laundry!

50 pesos for washer and dryer. The dryer only took 25 mins and everything was dry! Nice lady, doesn’t speak English but seemed to understand me. I thought I needed to put coins in the machine, but no you just pay her.

January 12th, 2021 Mauricio’s

The restaurant Mauricio’s is next door to the Cactus Hotel. We went in for some food and it turns out they have hot showers for 25per person and flush toilets! There is kind of a little ranch beside the restaurant, they let us park for the night for free. We did go back for more food later to be polite. Great spot to spend a night!

January 11th, 2021 Playa Santispac

Stayed 1 night here. It was nice. Very windy, and the tide goes waaay down so if you are going to swim do it in the morning. The afternoon is a looong walk out there.
The guy at the restaurant (the far one) was lovely. They let us fill our wash water for free and they have great seafood! About 500 for a giant seafood plate, a beer and a strong margarita

January 11th, 2021 Military Checkpoint

Easy peasy. They asked us where we were going and where we were from and had a quick look through the van. In and out

January 10th, 2021 Buenaventura Resort & Restaurant Bar

There was no one there when we arrived late morning, just 1 lady behind the bar. She told us 60pesos each just to shower, didn’t ask how much to camp. She told us the water is imported that’s why it’s expensive. We didn’t take but later we wished we did- it’s about the last hot shower on the Bahia.

January 9th, 2021 Free camping!

Nice spot. Easy access, we didn’t have a lot of clearance on our vehicle so this was perfect. Lovely little beach with lots of firewood, just as described.
I did pick up a kitchen bag’s worth of garbage off the beach.

January 7th, 2021 Pension Baja Paradise

Wow prices have gone up a lot in Baja! They wanted 700 for my boyfriend and I to have a private room. They don’t have parking and wouldn’t let us just pay to shower. We left

January 7th, 2021 Mercardo breakfast!

It’s a little “market” with 6 different restaurants who all start competing for tour business the second you enter, but not in a super aggressive way. It was kind of fun to watch and be wooed hahah we went with the middle one on the right.
Amazing coffee, and best omelette I’ve had in Mexico!

January 7th, 2021 Pension California

Wow the prices have gone up in Baja clearly! They wanted 700 for a couple. They did not have secure parking and they wouldn’t let us just have a shower. We needed parking for our vw bus, so we moved on. Looked like a nice place though

January 4th, 2021 Beach

This beach is gorgeous and beautiful and untouched by western development/ tourism. We were here in a Sunday night, there were Mexican tourists walking/swimming/driving. You can drive right onto the beach.
We parked next to a restaurant and a guy selling coconuts who charged us 100 pesos. We probably could have just parked in the beach for free, but feels safer having someone in our side.

Had no trouble all night, just the sound of the waves. A great place to stop between Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

January 3rd, 2021 Street next to RV park

We couldn’t find anyone to check in to the rv park in our bus so we just parked outside by the beach and stayed the night no problems. Could hear the waves over night and it was very peaceful. There are bathrooms at the end of the road for 5pesos

December 21st, 2020 Bosch Services - César Nuño

This is a mechanic who specializes in antique VWs who was recommended to us by a friend when our VW bus started to have some trouble. We spent a few days here before heading to Baja

December 18th, 2020 San Juan del Lago

The place was pretty lonely during covid. I can see that once it was lovley and bustling with life. Now the kitchen is not functioning. The place felt a bit eerie.

We arrived after dark having had a longer day on the road then expected. The gate wasn’t locked. Arturo came and met us and gave us a little tour and turned on the water heater for us to shower. He was lovely and accommodating. I hope the tourists will return after covid
