We visited here after we had been with transmission problems for 4 months.
transmission had been rebuilt, radiator cleaned, torque converter brand new, solenoide cleanedcwith ultrasounds... we didn't know what to check next.
The van was working but failing in hard uphills. so we came here.
They changed our Solenoide and the transmission oil cooler, they checked EVERYTHING (sensors, tubes, air filter) and niw our van is working and we made it to Mendoza!!
we have a ford e350 2004, they have all the spare parts you may need for 4r100 transmissions! and if you have problems on the road... they are willing to ship you the parts you may need!
clean, professional, knowledgeable, fast working, friendly we totally recommend him!

October 3rd, 2019 Mega Market

Be careful here!!! in less than 15 minutes my bf got robbed of the wallet here! it was 3 ladies, one local pointed out who coordinates them (they all know) and we went in fron of her speaking loudly saying we had no money in it but we had the passport, so if they would just realize it they could drop it on the ground and we would search for it... not even 2 minutes and someone dropped it at the feet of our friends...!! 20 minutes later someone spit on our friend to distract him while trying to steal from him too...
we were all speaking spanish at the market, and don't look too gringos. we had no cameras and the wallet was in a closed pocket but they were fast and expert. if you go DON'T BRING anything with you!! we got lucky (overall).

Beginnin of the low season now. Yesterday ten minutes to buy the tickets, 10 minutes queue to board the bus. This at 8am. Awesome!

September 3rd, 2019 Free ride to Aguas Calientes

We started to walk from hydroelectrica early in the morning. in this location we noticed several empty buses were going back to Aguas Calientes after they dropped off tourists in Machu.
we flagged down one of them and we asked if we could board the bus to machu directly from here and buy the bus tickets aboard. The driver said we had to buy the tickets first in Aguas Calientes.
We then asked if he could give us a free lift to Aguas and were accepted.
This is a good option if you want to save yourself 2.6 km walk and/or are running late for your entry time in Machu.
I think it only works in the morning tho ;)

August 16th, 2019 At Reserva's Entrance - Police Station

To enter the reserva from here you'll find a puesto de control and Commisaria (police station).
we asked and were allowed to stay.

We recommend you to have a full day (minimum) to visit the Reserve if going all the way from here to Vilca (road on only), and from Vilca back to the Ruta 24.
Also, be sure you have fuel as from here to almost the coast we didn't find any official petrol station.
Also best place to spend the night is Puentes Coloniales. You won't find another good spot for sleep for another 2.5 hours if driving to the coast (Capillucas police station is the first one).
Plan accordingly and don't underestimate the amount of time it will take you for pictures ;)
