May 4th, 2019 Camping Legjenda

We stayed in one of the rooms because of the rain. Camping was not possible because camping spots are too small to put the awning. The room was 22 Euro (17 room, 3 parking for the car, 2 two-year old child). Washing machine 3,50 Euro. Owner friendly but it was more false friendly and not true. Shared bathrooms between hostel and camping clean but we had to remind the cleaning staff of toilet paper. All in all OK bit we liked Lake Shkodra Resort much better. But you can walk to town in about 30 minutes from here.

May 3rd, 2019 Deserted auto camp

This place is permanently closed.

May 3rd, 2019 Deserted auto camp

Now it is only a big hole and everything is fenced and gated. No possible to stay here!

May 3rd, 2019 Lost Camp Buljarica

Again abandoned. Gate is open. We drove straight till the end of the road. Beautiful spot there. Some friendly locals were around. Even the police came and we asked, if we could stand here and he said, that it is no problem. We also had weak free open WIFI (no idea where this came from ;-))

May 3rd, 2019 Sveti Stefan

They are building new houses on this ground. It is not possible to stay here.

May 2nd, 2019 Mimoza Camping

Beautiful setting with stunning view on the lake! The place itself is nothing special. Friendly owner and good WIFI, restaurant was closed when we were there. Toilet and shower is OK. We paid 14 Euro, our neighbors 12 Euro. Maybe we paid 2 Euro extra for our 2 year old daughter. Everything a bit intransparent.

April 30th, 2019 Camping Kate

Nice place, friendly owners. Great atmosphere. We paid 102 kuna for 2 adults, 1 child (two years) without electricity. Wifi worked great. Showers are heated by solar and where not really hot because we had no sun for a few days.

April 29th, 2019 Free parking

On the side of the street. About 10 minutes walk to town.

April 27th, 2019 Oaza Auto Camp

Price is now 10 KM pppn, camper/van is 15 KM, tent is 10 KM, motorcycle 8 KM, electricity 5 KM, nice big level lawn with a lot of trees for shade, very clean toilets and showers, free fast WIFI, staff not really friendly.

April 21st, 2019 Small stony beach between cliffs

What a beautiful place! Till now our most favorite place in Croatia. We saw a shepherd and asked him, if it is a problem to sleep here and he said it's not, we could stay as long as we like. No problem with a normal 4x4. Space for two or three vehicles. I added a picture.

April 20th, 2019 Eco camp Rizvan City

Still the same: 10€ pppn. Nice clean and modern facilities. Quite place with not many tourists.

April 19th, 2019 Wild camping next to the beach

Two to three level spots where you can park with your 4x4 (no big rig). If you don't have a 4x4 or a big rig you can park uphill and walk about 100 meters to the beach where you can put your tent (or sleep uphill in the parking lot). Beautiful view. In the daytime some visitors but in the nighttime very quite. No shade. Dogs are officially not allowed directly at the beach but there where some visitors with dogs and no one cared.
Update: On the second night came a guy (Mario) and told us, that it is private and we could pay 100 Kuna or leave. We paid, because at the end it was cheaper than a campground. And he said we were not allowed to make a campfire.

April 15th, 2019 Camping Arena Stoja

Typical huge holiday campground without any flair directly on the ocean Showers and toilets clean and ok. Staff very friendly and speaks English and German fluently. We paid in off season 18 Euro per night incl. electricity (price only online available). It was quite when we were there but in summer it must be completely full. There is a bus in front of the gate that goes three times an hour to city centre of Pula. Wifi free, fast and available almost everywhere on the spot. Several restaurants on the campground.

April 14th, 2019 Dujceva Kamp

At the moment they are renovating but they want to open the place in a few days for easter holidays. But we were allowed to stay in the backyard of the mainhouse and camp there. The price shall be 26 Euro without and 28 with electricity. The owner speaks very good German.

April 14th, 2019 Reisemobilstellplatz Mureck

Campground not far from the border to Slovenia. Small spots, more for overnight stay then for making holidays. But very clean toilets and showers, laundry (extra about 50 cents per 30 minutes) and dishes facilities. 19 Euro per night, 2 Euro extra for electricity, also tents and caravans allowed. In summer free entrance to the swimming pool next door. Wifi also extra 2 Euro per 24 hours.

April 11th, 2019 1. REISEMOBIL-Stellplatz Salzburg

More then 100 tight spots next to each other. Perfect for one or two nights to visit Salzburg. There is a bus from here to city centre. The place is 20 Euro per night, excl. electricity (not sure how much, we didn't use). WIFI is 2 Euro extra but really good 4G signal. Very clean toilets and showers. Portable water available. Also washing mashine and dryer (1 Euro per 30 minutes), open 24/7

April 11th, 2019 1. Reisemobil-Stellplatz Wien

Now 20 Euro per night, rest still the same and free wifi

January 17th, 2019 Va a seguir - Italian Restaurant

The best pizza and pasta we ever had in our life from a real Italian. Prices are 3500 for Pasta and between 5000 and 10000 for a Pizza. Great value for what you get and soooo yummy!

January 2nd, 2019 Comedor Panchita

They also sell great fresh fruit juices. We paid for about 1 liter orange with strawberrys 40 C$ and it was delicious!

July 29th, 2018 Road from / to Epupa along Kunene

There are still a lot of old and wrong informations about this road. They shaped the road and you can drive it without any problems with a normal 4x4. It is a good gravel road. Only after the flood in April 2018 there were some few sections where it is better that you have a high ground clearance and low range. The panaroma along the river is beautiful and really worth it! From Kunene River Lodge it took us 2,5 hours.

July 28th, 2018 Shoprite Usave / Pep / ATM / pharmacy

A small shopping center where you find a usave, PEP a pharmacy and an ATM.

July 22nd, 2018 Nunda River Lodge

Our second time at this beautiful place. Still one of the best and cleanest places we had in our whole Africa trip. Sites 2+3 and 7+8 have river view. Try to get 7 or 8, they are the biggest.
We had also lunch in the restaurant. Was Ok, nothing special.
We highly recommend this place!

July 21st, 2018 Katima Mulilo / Sesheke Border

Traveling from Zambia to Namibia. German passports with Carnet.

First stamped out Passports and Carnet on Zambian site. No problem, no fees, done in seconds.

Then drove on to the Namibian site. Filled in a form, got our passports stamped and paid the road fee (VISA possible).

That's was it, totally easy! Done in 30 minutes!

July 6th, 2018 Shoprite / PEP

Shoprite and PEP with everything you need. They take VISA.

July 6th, 2018 ATM of Cavmont bank without fee

ATM outside didn't work but they have another inside the bank. Maximum withdrawl 2000 kwacha without any fees for VISA. Next to PEP

July 5th, 2018 Grocery store / supermarket

A small supermarket which has almost everything you need (groceries, toilet articles, ...)

July 4th, 2018 Immigration Tanzania / Zambia & Carnet & Taxes Zambia

Exiting TZ and entering Zambia

German Passport with CdP.

The busiest border we have seen in whole southern and eastern Afrika!

First go to customs on the TZ side of the border before the gate to stamp out your carnet. The first time we passed it without seeing it because of the many trucks in front of the building. But TZ immigration sent us back. Stamping out of Carnet was done in a few minutes.

Then you go to this one stop border post. First they want to see you yellow fever vaccinations. Then we went to TZ immigration to stamp out. Done in a few seconds. After that we went to Zambian immigration to buy a Visa for 50 USD (single entry).
After that we had to go to a back office to pay 200 kwacha carbon tax (depends on your engine and only payable in kwacha) and get our Carnet stamped. After that we had to go upstairs to pay 20 USD road tax (only payable in USD). Only this last part took us over 1 hour because there was just 1 man working and hundrets of “agents“ for the truck drivers.

All in all it took us 2,5 hours. Most time was running around and waiting time.

There is an ATM at the border for Zambian kwacha but it didn't work because of failing network.

If possible try to avoid this border.

June 30th, 2018 MRC Mikocheni Resort Centre

A nice Hostel with very lovely Staff and Managements. Small clean double rooms with private bathroom and really good hot shower with perfect Pressure. Rooms with aircondition!
There are also doorms, but we didn't see them.
Price for double room is 15 USD incl. small breakfast and secured parking.
Not BigRigfriendly, but okay for normal 4x4.
They have a restaurant with the best Burgers and especially Pizza we ever had! Don't miss it!!!
Free WiFi in restaurant

June 28th, 2018 Fish Eagle Point

At the moment camping is not really possible. The whole campground is under construction and showers were only cold. They wanted to charge us 10$ pppn. We didn't stay. Renovations shall be finished in July.

June 23rd, 2018 Diani Backpackers

Camping still 600 pppn. Camping with tent on lawn. With a car it is only possible on the uneven parking lot. Very nice and clean facilities and very friendly staff. Showers are heaten by solar, so on a cloudy day, there is no hot shower. We didn't stay because we didn't want to stay on the parking lot.
