June 18th, 2016 Close to the tracks, in front of the restaurants

On the US1, 2 km before here, we take 2 peoples on our RV. They are the owners of a small restaurant here, so they said we could stay here. It was very quiet included late in the morning.

June 17th, 2016 Tiwanaku Camp

Local says it's still ok to park overnight here (but we had an other option)

June 17th, 2016 Grifi Duji Gas station

This is the first gas station that say yes for staying overnigth, from Puno. We tried 3 others before, but they had to ask to their owner and we had to wait a long time for the answer...
Quiet (no truck). Friendly. We refill ou water tank here (non potable)

June 17th, 2016 Border Control Peru/Bolivia

Of course, we were here with our big rig a Friday ! But it was 4pm and the market was in the last opening time. For us, it was only the most colorful border crossing we lived, but we could imagine how crazy it was few hours before.
Market is on the both side.

So, from Peru to Bolivia :
Peru - We stop the RV near the yellow gate, just before the bridge. Then go to the immigration, few meters before, on the left on the road. Then go back to the gate, on Sunat, to cancel vehicle paper. They give you the half of the paper and you can go.
On the bridge we pay a fee 5s or 12b for the town.
Bolivia - We park our RV just after the bridge, on the right. Then we go to immigration. It's a building on the right of the road which goes to the left. Then go back on the beginning of the buildings, in front of the bridge, just between the 2 roads. For your vehicle, you have to give driver license, vehicle paper, your passport and the little part of the form that the immigration just let you. All 4 with copies. Then someone want to see the VIN number on your car and give a vehicle permission paper.

Change rate on Peru side for soles to bol was 2.10 this day

With my wife and our 3 children, we cross this border in 1h20. Probably the fastest of all the americas.

June 16th, 2016 Secure Parking

We paid 10 soles for 6 hours. It probably should be possible to pay less... It's a good place to take a boat for Uros Islands
No possibility to stay sleeping in RV for the night.

June 16th, 2016 Pecsa gas station

Free but not quiet. Music until 10pm and after, it was a dogs song for a long time.
There is some not running toilets and I see a shower, but not sure it's working.
There are a lot of gas station on the road, I suggest to try an other one...

June 15th, 2016 Pecsa gas station near Sicuani

Big area with nothing.

We haven't seen any good area in Pisac and the darkness was coming. The road became in poor condition here. So we decide to stay here. Finally, it was fine.

June 12th, 2016 Near the (old?) Soccer field

Very quiet, except some sheeps at 7AM :-)

June 12th, 2016 Salinas De Moras - Main Parking

6km from the Maras asphalt road to here. Unpaved road but all vehicules can do it. Easy for our 21 feet RV.
We didn't sleep here but everyone should come here to see the salineras. One of the most beautiful place in Peru.

June 12th, 2016 Chinchero Sunday handcraft market (and ruins entrance)

Simply the best handcraft market we see in Peru. You can see women and men working : they do clothes, hats, bone's flutes... You can eat or drink chicha.
It's better in the morning or in the beginning of afternoon. After 5pm, this is the last step of some trips, so there are a lot of buses plenty of tourist...

June 5th, 2016 Andenes De Saphy

Parking with video control in front of the hotel, big enough for some big RV and buses.
We were 2 adults and 3 children and had a big room for 250s / night. There was 1 double bed + 2 single + 2 mezzanine with single bed each.
private shower was hot 24h. Hair dryier availlable at reception (as a lot of others things, like microwave in the kitchen...)
Good wifi everywhere.
Breakfast included.
Books (english, french, german, spanish), games, computer, Tv... in the lounge
Free hot drink 24h near reception (thé, mate de coca).

Nice staff.

We stay 5 nights and it was a very good break during our one year travel on the road.

June 5th, 2016 La Divina Sazon

Very good restaurant. Tipical food. Very big portion of meat. Cuy, chicharrones, porc chuleta.... Between 15 and 40 (for entire cuy !) sol.
Parking perfect for big rigs.

June 4th, 2016 Big area near a small restaurant at 3000m

As said in the title !
Free and big.
The restaurant is a little bit more expensive than the others we saw on the road (15s per meat, not 10s).

June 3rd, 2016 Big area at 3650m

We tried to go more high but one of our children become ill, so we went back here. Big area, nice view and very cold in the nigth but probably less than more high...

June 3rd, 2016 24 horas caldo restaurant parking lot

Nice area. Nice family. Good food (10s per meat).

June 2nd, 2016 Reserva National de Pampas Galeras

where you cold see a lot of vigognes

June 2nd, 2016 Around baskett field

A large and flat area, around sport field, in the middle of a little town. Sheeps as neighbours !

June 1st, 2016 Large gravel area by roadside

It was ok, big area and safe, but we see other coords `over the hill route 30`, 6km before, and it should be better (nice view) included for big rigs

June 1st, 2016 Over The Hill - Route 30

We saw it (but not stop). There is a way for 4x4 to the hill and there is a flat area for big rigs closed to, with nice view at the end of the day...

June 1st, 2016 Airport parking lot

We arrived at 4pm to book a flight for the next morning. We asked nothing but they suggested we stay here overnight, for free. Thanks !

Wifi at milena's café, cost 3sol per day per each computer or phone

May 31st, 2016 Gas station

Another one... Free. Bathroom 24h. Showers (only in the men side...) but locked (should probably ask to the staff). Water to refill our tank.
In the morning, 500m to the south, we saw an other gaz station on the other side which looks better with a big parking lot...

May 31st, 2016 On the road to the airport entrance...

To find the airport entrance, when you come from Nasca city, you have to turn left just before the airport walls.
Then you will see the Museo Inca Masi, and continue and follow the road to the right.

There is a fee for entrance/parking (4 or 5 sol).

Tickets for Nazca Lines are cheapest directly in the airport (standart 30min with Travelair is 70$US. There is a lot of others options, some reduce if you are 5 or 6 etc...)

May 30th, 2016 Ica Fren

After altiplano we had to change ours two front brakes. The work was quickly made (1h30) and well done, for 170 sol. He had to adapt his "pastilla" to our french rv (fiat ducato). This place doesn‘t look very modern but he knows his job.

May 29th, 2016 Just before/after 4000m alt.

We came from Huancayo - Huancavelica - lagunas de Choclococha, one of the beautiful road we ever done, with a lot of lamas and alpagas.
So we were happy to sleep here, the first/last area before/after the plateau between 4000 and 5000m. No headache for anybody here...
There is a small restaurant here, 10sol and good.

May 28th, 2016 Huancavelica municipal stadium

We asked to the touristic police where we could overnight and they absolutely want to find a close area. So we sleep in the entrance of the municipal stadium at few steps from plaza with lot of food stands. A little bite noisy but in the heart of the city. All the town is safe, you can find your own place. Police is very (too much ?) helpfull :-) Policewomen kissed us when they went away !

Road from Huancayo to Huancavelica is in good condition for all kind of vehicules (easily made with rv 21 feets). Beautifull views with lamas and alpagas !

May 28th, 2016 Width 3m20 max

This road from Huancavelica to the lagunas Choclococha is only for vehicle less than 3m20 width. Because some holes in the mountain are no more wide.
No problem with the height, there isn't any tunnel.

May 27th, 2016 Gas station

Friendly gas station. Free. Quiet. Safe
If you prefer, you could choose to overnight closed to the station (50m), in front of the soccerfield, but you have to share this place with dogs and sheeps.
