February 16th, 2019 Rillito River Park, gravel parking

Didn’t stay here, but cycle past it every day. A gravel parking lot with access to the Rillito River. Probably OK for one night stay. Wouldn’t recommend for tents but possible. OK for campers and big rigs. Has benches and a water faucet.

January 6th, 2019 Restaurant Melany

24 hour restaurant. Awesome breakfast for 2 con cafe- 180 pesos.

October 16th, 2018 Clayoquot Arm Beach Rec Site

Didn’t stay here. Found it on the map. I think it’s a free Rec Site

September 2nd, 2018 Waswanipi River Camp

Approx 10 drive-in sand lots. Firepits and benches. Toilets and boat ramp. 7 mile sand/gravel/corrugated road in. Nice and quiet. Free

June 1st, 2018 Virgin River Campground next to Hwy 15

$8 for overnight use or $4 if you have an annual NP pass. Not much shade and hot as balls!

May 12th, 2018 Manti-La Sal National Forest

All the way up the hill there are small side roads and pull ins. All of them were full with campers as i rode up on a Saturday. Managed to find this one amongst the trees and bushes. Flat soft ground, great for tents. Just a few rock fire pits around.

April 6th, 2018 Luna tortuga

Went here hoping to get a 100 peso tent spot. They wanted $15 US dollars to camp and $75 US dollars for a room!!! I got them to repeat it and I emphasized the 'US dollars' bit. Don't know if it was because it was the last few days of semana santa, but I swiftly turned around and got a 300 p hotel room in town

April 5th, 2018 Hotel Real De Pascuales

50 pesos for one man, one tent and one moto. Edgar is a nice guy and speaks good English. Pitched tent under palapa for shade. Toilets were pretty bad and no running water, just a huge barrel of it. I didn't care for 50 pesos. Can be a bit noisy with restaurant one side and swimming pool the other

February 27th, 2018 Hotel del Rio

Adding this one for the bikers that want a hotel with secure parking. Has a side ramp that leads to the foyer where they let you park. 400 pesos a night for one person. Clean, A/C. En-suite. Nice folks. 3 blocks from Malecon and a short walk to the mercado. I didn't stay here, just adding it as hotels with secure parking for bikes are thin on the ground on here.

February 23rd, 2018 Tacos Suaves

10 peso tacos. What more do you need to know?!

February 2nd, 2018 La Ruta Vegana

Excellent spot to get off the road and chill. Muy tranquillo. Fantastic carne pizza. Friendly people and he rides a KLR650, so he must be cool

January 23rd, 2018 Mariscos el Puerto

Damn good fish ceviche stall next to the Pemex. Ignacio seems like a nice guy and put up with my terrible Spanish

January 22nd, 2018 Misiones RV Park (formerly Manfred's RV Park)

Had the place to myself. Friendly people. Showers were cold but i was hot so didn't care. Tent and moto parked under a palapa. Wifi was good by the office. 100 pesos a night

January 21st, 2018 Welding

Welded up my broken bike frame on a Sunday before lunch. Friendly lad, spoke some English. Repair was OK, but I'm critical as Im a mechanic and fabricator. Open every day. 300 pesos for a bit of grinding and a few inches of weld. Happy to pay that to get me back on the road

January 20th, 2018 Taqueria yoli

4 fish tacos and a drink for 50 pesos! You can't go wrong

January 17th, 2018 Playa Ecomundo

This was an old Eco Camp that burnt down, remnants of it can still be seen. You can camp any where on this waste ground. No one in Posada seems to know who owns it now, probably federal land. Only problem with tent camping was lack of shade and some days can be very windy. Very quiet apart from the trucks occasionally using their J brakes. Lucy's restaurant in Posada does good food. No phone signal, you have to go to km marker 124 for that. Wi-fi can be bought at the restaurant on Santispac beach. There is a hot spring on this beach, look for the 'light bulb' shaped rocks in the water, most visible at low tide, but its shallow. There are 3 other hot springs, one under the palapa on the waters edge, one at the north end last street, and one under the cliff with the houses on. I think kayaks are available for rent too, ask at Lucys.

January 4th, 2018 La Casa Del Cylista

100p a night. Tent camped with motorcycle. All very friendly. OK wifi, OK showers. Nice and quiet. Plenty of flies and mozzys to keep you company. I think their restaurant re-opened on the 13th Jan 2018

December 6th, 2017 Los Olivos Campground, San Quintín

100 pesos for one tent one person. Camped on the grass football field, don't think you're supposed too but hardly anyone else there so don't think they cared. Steaming hot clean shower. Wifi. Great for 5 bucks

December 3rd, 2017 Campo Mosqueda

Nice place to camp by the river. Good for moto camping, ground's a bit gravelly but good and firm for tent pegs. Had my own palapa and table. 200 pesos a night for tent. Windy all day but still once the sun goes down.

April 20th, 2015 Iguassu Motorcycle Travellers Hostel

The hostel I mention before is actually 'Hostel Manga Rosa'. Avenida Florianopolis 1085. Great for bikers.

April 19th, 2015 Iguassu Motorcycle Travellers Hostel

Email or call before visiting. No longer a hostel but possibly will open again in the future. They took us around to 'Hostel Manga Rosa'. Great for secure parking of motos.

April 1st, 2015 Moto Tyres Gomeria

Good selection of dual purpose moto tyres here and able to fit immediatly.

November 26th, 2014 Residencial La Cabana

Listing this place as it wasn't much more than the cost of a campsite and way cheaper than any other place in town. We paid 16,000. Secure parking for the motorbikes. Parked them right outside our door. Small cabin style room. Mediocre wi-fi, hot shower, sea views, cable TV and a cockeral to wake you up in the morning. A bit run down but good for one night.

November 24th, 2014 Hostal Los Robles

A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. One of the nicest hostals we've stayed in. Super clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent secure parking out back for Motorbikes. Enough room in the secure front yard for a big rig, maybe 2 smaller 4x4's. Good wi-fi, constant hot water, cable TV, great clean kitchen to use. Free tea and coffee. Huge American style mall 2 blocks away. Yamaha and BMW dealers around the corner. Cheaper rates for longer stays. We payed 25,000 first night and 20,000 for the second. We stayed in room 4a, closest to the kitchen, modem and water heaters.

November 14th, 2014 Hostal Atahualpa

A diamond in the rough. Ollague is a dump with no facilities. No ATM's, No Gas stations, nada ! We were lucky to come across this place with no signage out front. We arrived late in the evening with no Chilean money, only Bolivianos as there are no money changers at the border. There emptied our pockets of cash as they had us over a barrel so make sure you get the right currency way before the border. It is extremely clean and comfortable and the restaurant does good food. No Internet. We managed to score some Gas out back from a guy for an extortionate rate, but we needed it as there is no gas until Calama. Good secure parking out back for bikes. Probably get a rig in there.

August 9th, 2014 Chimayoy National park

Great place to stay just off the main road if you don't want to go into Pasto. Large car park big enough for big rigs and plenty of grassy spots for tent camping. We camped to the right of the large white building in a small garden surrounded by bushes to keep out of the wind. Great view of the Volcano. Restaurant available for snacks and drinks. Toilets 24hrs. Gates locked at night with 2 security gaurds all night. 10,000 per person per night. S 00' 12.1 54' W 078' 29.370'
