|May 4th, 2019||Blue Banana||
Good spot for free, quite and safe.
|May 4th, 2019||Occalli CAFE||
Perfect place to take a wonderful coffee from experts (!) or a local beer (I took a frozen Chai- and it was AMAZING). They make Tostadas (see photo) and desserts as well. Enjoy!
|May 4th, 2019||Tropigas||
We have an US fix-tank. Refill done in 10 mins. $2/ gallon. Quick and easy. Very recommended!
|May 4th, 2019||Laguna de Alegria||
WOW! Salvador‘s hidden gem!
|May 4th, 2019||Restaurante El Faro Del Lago||
Very unfriendly and rude staff.
|May 2nd, 2019||Adela's Restaurant and Campsite||
Our experience at Adela‘s place:
Would recommend for one night but not more.
|April 23rd, 2019||Hotel Heroes, "La pequeña Helvecia"||
Silena and Franz are our new heroes! So very friendly and welcoming!
We could stay for free (yes, really!!) and use all amenities (WC, swimming pool, Wifi, cold shower, parking).
To show them our gratitude, we ate at the restaurant several times. Don’t miss the excellent “mousse au chocolat” and the incredible “apple pie”.
|April 19th, 2019||Playa Bandera Beach Front||
Good place to stay a few days under the shade of the palm trees or in the sun (if you need it for your solar panels).
Quite busy with locals (easter holidays), rough sea with big waves, and windy throughout the day (finally a bit of air in this very hot and humid country!!).
Shower and toilet for 1000 Colones pP/ day (red house).
No Wifi available anymore...
|April 10th, 2019||STICKERS PRINT||
For 200 Stickers (7cmx7cm) in BEST quality we paid 76 USD (including taxes).
|March 20th, 2019||La Rayuela camping||
La Rayuela is a place to stay 1-2 days, but not recommended for a longer stay.
|March 13th, 2019||Finca Hostal Bolivar||
Finca Hostal Bolivar is a swiss-owned Campground / Hostel. We were planning to stay one night and stayed 5 in the end. That says everything.
It is well organised; kitchen, bathroom, and shared areas within the hostel, are cleaned daily.
Best spot to be in Minca, that’s for sure.
Definitely a must.
|March 4th, 2019||LAVADO - Refill water tank!||
Couldn’t find any place to refill our water tank. Tried here at the “lavado” and could refill our fix water tank (~250liters) for 2’000 COP.
(they offer to wash your vehicle for 20’000COP)
|March 4th, 2019||Marakarita Bed & Breakfast||
We LOVED this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We parked directly at the beach, had Wifi, could use (very clean) shower and bathroom, and plugged in our van (you chan choose between 220V or 110V).
10’000 COP pP. Worth every penny.
Margarita is helpful in every way and makes incredibly good Pizzas! Try the one with seafood 🦞🍤
|February 28th, 2019||La Consentida||
Wanted 17’000 COP/pP, we told him about iOverlander and that it was 15’000 COP. He agreed.
Possible to have electricity for your car.
Showers and bathrooms weren’t that clean... Decided to leave the next day.
Good for one night, but nothing special.
|February 27th, 2019||al lado del rio||
Do NOT COME here! Army is vigilating this area, since armed groups (guerillas - ELN) threatened to bomb the bridge! They told us to avoid the entirety of the region “El tigre” because of terroristic activities.
|February 26th, 2019||Al Bosque Hostel & Glamping||
Now at 17’000COP/pP.
Very nice and organised place, friendly staff.
- washing machine 10‘000COP/load
Recommendable, even if a bit pricey.
|February 22nd, 2019||Jungle Magic||
Indeed great spot just at the river Caldera.
Could observe loads of colourful birds, swim in the crystal clear water (afternoon), jump from the old bridge (care for water depth) and take a sunbathe on the sandy beach.
|February 20th, 2019||Bad road from San Luis to Guatapé||
Up to San Luis good road. Leaving San Luis the road is VERY bumpy; a lot of big stones on an uneven gravel road. Count with 1.5 hours for 20km.
|February 20th, 2019||Minimercado M&F||
Here in San Luis you can buy your groceries (fruits, vegetables, pasta, rice, water, beer, ...) in little shops before heading to Guatapé.
|February 9th, 2019||Craft Beer||
VERY disappointing. Expected great beer, but everything tasted like soap.
|February 7th, 2019||BioMax||
Driving from the NP Puracé in direction of Plata, this is the only gasoline/diesel station.
|February 1st, 2019||Mario Mechanics||
After only 800km we had to have the whole breaks redone and the electrical issue appeared again. So not really happy about the outcome...
Mario was really kind and helpful, but perhaps they did bad work because they didn’t know our type of vehicle (Dodge Ram).
|January 28th, 2019||Piedra Cantuña||
Almuerzos (juice, soup, main course, desert) for $3. EXCELLENT 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
|January 26th, 2019||Eni Gas||
COULD FINALLY REFILL OUR US-FIX TANK!
Since Bolivia we couldn’t find any spot that was willing to refill our fix tank. So we are more than happy!!
Just conductor could enter (wearing long pants, shoes and a security helmet).
Filling took 10mins.
Do not show up between 11am-2pm, they are taking a break.
Open on Saturday!
Paid $16 for 16kg.
|January 25th, 2019||Police check||
Police stopped us to check our car for drugs, armes or any other illegal things.
|January 17th, 2019||Aroma y Sabor de Mercedes||
Indeed incredible tasty, freshly prepared Empanadas of an wonderful owner, Mercedes!!
|January 14th, 2019||Crater Rimp||
Stayed two nights at the most PERFECT spot at Laguna Quilotoa. Best view of the crater lake directly from your vehicle and hidden from town.
We walked down to the laguna (45min) and came up again (1h).
|January 11th, 2019||PRIMAX Gas Station||
New gas station.
- secure place to park your vehicle during the night
Very, very lovely owner at the shop. She was very interested to know about us and even offered us some eggs from here chickens.
|January 11th, 2019||PRIMAX||
New gas station.
|January 8th, 2019||Swiss Wassi Zorritos||
Incredible place to stay. We loved it so much we stayed a whole week. Why?
Some people found it a bit expensive, went to the other place on iOverlander, and came back because Swiss Wassi was so much better.
Very recommendable !!
