October 10th, 2020 Slough Reservoir campground

Cute little reservoir with many campsites, with fire pits and tables. best one is on the other side of the reservoir. Free, bathrooms, water, garbage great stop over on the way to black rock city!

August 12th, 2020 Swan Valley Community library

Free WiFi. Even when closed. The password is on the bulletin board by the front entrance. A local told us about this and it seemed like locals came by in the afternoon to have a scroll on the radio contraption ;)

June 30th, 2020 Buffalo Valley Road

Epic van down by the river spot. It was raining for the past week so the last section down by the river was a little soft but had no problems with a 2wd sprinter, transit and e250 econoline Conversion van. Nice small fire pit. Spot right on the river. We saw cows, bald eagles, and a beaver! Has a view of the Tetons, but just the top half, the bottom have is obstructed with rolling hills filled with trees. So not to terrible!

September 27th, 2019 Juan Creek

Update: it is 9/27/19 and the hoarder still lives there. There is plenty of parking here, but we are going to keep moving because I don’t really want to be neighbors with a tweaker 😬

September 17th, 2019 Manzanita fresh foods

The best mini grocery store that I’ve been to in the middle of nowhere! (It has been raining for the past two days so this felt like the middle of nowhere) Pretty huge organic product selection. Loved this little store! Great bathrooms too! Grass feed meats, vegan cheeses, all the favorites you’d find at a co op or Whole Foods, with some of the normal grocery brands too! Something for everybody.

Showers next door to laundry, you’ll see the sign!

April 24th, 2019 Agua Purificada Location

We stopped at the park across the street for a lunch after the mechanic and realized their is a water place across the street with cheap alkaline water! $15 per or $12 for regular purified

April 23rd, 2019 Polarizados el Pirata 2

Good place to get your windows tinted we paid $300MX for our front windows in our sprinter! It was fast and the quality is good

April 23rd, 2019 Polarizados el Pirata 2

Very nice, very fast, very cheap, very good! Free fast WiFi while you wait! $15 usd for two front windows on our sprinter

April 20th, 2019 Beach camping / hot spring

This place is epic. Beach front camping, dig your own hot springs, and mountain biking! This place has it all. If you are looking to get up and get some views, there are a couple biking trails you could hike up to get a good over look of the area. Download “trailforks” app for Baja mountain biking for the GPS trails. The palapas are to the south and the hotsprings are to the north, at low tide only, and by the rocks. Dig your own! There is some snorkeling there too from the warm water, there is so much sea life near by. Mornings and afternoons, you can kayak and SUP, but it seems most of the day is windy and better for kite boarding or mountain biking!

We were here for some of Holy Week, and holyyyyyy moly! People pack in here like sardines, many 4x4s got stuck in the sand. So stay on the high road, and Air down if you’re sand driving! We finally convinced some really stuck 4x4 with mud tires to air down after they tried to winch out, push out, and dig out, to no avail. They aired down and popped right out. Please leave this place better than you found it! No more toilet paper marking where you pee, ladies!

April 16th, 2019 Supermercado Chapito’s

This place has snorkel gear, umbrellas, chairs, groceries, cook ware, it is like a small k-mart. I don’t know why this isn’t on the map already! But it is a great stop for lots of essentials. Even found non-gmo coconut oil!

April 13th, 2019 California Ranch Market (organic market with American groceries)

This has everything that an American co-op style store has. Ghee, cassava flour, gluten free, paleo and vegan products. Even has bitchen sauce, La croix, great cheese selection, pastured eggs and chicken, NZ and Australian pasture raised beef, and GTs kombucha. If you are missing some of your staples and you are on a specific diet, this is the place. You may pay a bit of a premium, but you’ll be stoked if you usually are a pretty picky shopper!

April 10th, 2019 Nine Palms

Line up and beach parking gets crowded when the waves are on. Rocky and sea urchins. Pretty sweet little spot. No amenities, but plenty of places to dig your own. Trash recycle and compost down the way at the other nine palms, just a walk away.

March 31st, 2019 Playa El Requeson

This campsite is my favorite in all of Baja. We usually don’t pay for campsites, but this place was awesome and I can’t wait to come back! $150 for Palapas on a spit beach going to an island at low tide. Cutest sweetest puppy that greeted all campers as they woke up. Cute nice cat too.. no cell service although there is a bar/restaurant you can paddle to (or drive to) In the next cove north, with showers and WiFi and a popping taco Tuesday! The fisherman came by with their daily catch, everyday. Rug and sombrero vendors come by too... magical experience. We saw dolphins, turtles, sting rays, exotic fish and If we didn’t run out of food and water, we would have stayed longer! Toilets are standard Baja drop toilets that take a beating from the wind. They are totally “useable”

March 31st, 2019 Agua Purificada

They have alkaline water! We paid about $20 pesos to for 14 gallons

March 16th, 2019 Taller Mecanico “El Chava”

Mechanic shop that really helped us in a pickle when we were stranded at night down near Quattro Casas. These guys came out and repaired our buddies starter on the fly and got us out and safe. If you are in a pickle if you are in between Ensenada and San Quintin I’d give these guys a shot. El Chava is the man! 6161091830 they saved our asses
