November 30th, 2016 Mercado

Awesome Mercado/food court around the corner from the RV park - kind of reminds me of Whole Foods. Has trendy food stalls - coffee, pastries, market area, juice etc. super good! Top floor has restaurant with breakfast

November 8th, 2016 Free tap water. Filtration reccomended.

Just went here to refill all our water. The guy told us its fine to drink. Free!

November 8th, 2016 unknown beach north of los barriles

Nice few spots on a rocky beach as described below. Not great for swimming but we managed to take a few dips. We also saw another road about 30 feet north of this one where there was a larger, flat area to setup shop plus more shade and further off the road.

November 6th, 2016 Baja East Cape Horse Beach

Stayed one night here. Nice spot fairly close to the beach but no shade. Not a swimming area but the views are stunning. Some houses nearby but they aren't occupied. Tip: collect some coconuts from the trees near the houses - so delicious!

November 5th, 2016 Playa San Pedrito

Nice small beach with a handful of surfers camping overnight. Not a swimming beach but good for surfing. We got a little lost getting there - think we turned too early and got stuck in someone's farm. If coming from the north, take a right off Mex 1 at the sign for Pescadero Palace (with laundry right behind it). It's an easy dirt road that leads directly to the beach. Free!

November 4th, 2016 Military Checkpoint

No checkpoint here.

November 4th, 2016 Military Checkpoint

Standard questions - where going and coming from. No inspection of vehicle southbound.

November 4th, 2016 Agricultural Checkpoint

Also didn't see anything here when we passed.

November 4th, 2016 Pension Baja Paradise

Great affordable option in La Paz and within walking distance to the malecon. Strong wifi, hot showers, nice communal kitchen stocked with pots pans dishes etc. We stayed here one night while our van got a check up across the street at Geraldos. Rooms start at 390p for one person. Ours was 470 because the others weren't available.

November 4th, 2016 Geraldo's VW

Kind, honest and affordable - everything you'd want in a mechanic. Rogelio fit us in last minute - super awesome guy. He speaks fluent English too. They performed a full suspension inspection, fixed a broken front wheel bearing and did an oil change for us$65 in one day.

November 2nd, 2016 Military Checkpoint

Heading southbound - we were asked standard questions about where we were going and where we came from and what was in our van. They didn't inspect inside though. Easy, 30 seconds.

October 31st, 2016 Playa El Requeson

By far our favorite beach. Situated on a sand bar with about 5 palapas, it has calm, shallow waters that are perfect for sitting in or snorkeling if you go further out. Many of the palapas were not in great shape though, but the toilets were fine. Stayed two nights for 100p/night.

October 30th, 2016 Playa Escondido

Nice beach with 8 or so palapas. It's tucked away from the main road and was nearly packed when we arrived in late October. Palapas were nice (100p/night), pit toilets were in good shape, and there were several trash bins. The water was great - calm and good for swimming and snorkeling. There are usually a few vendors that stop by and sell food like tamales, seafood, and ice cream. No one came to collect money the first day, but came the second day.

October 29th, 2016 Market

Market in mulege, on the left of the fork shortly after turning off Mex 1. Great selection of veggies, fruit, household supplies etc. Good place to stock supplies before heading to Bahia Concepcion.

October 28th, 2016 Huerta Don Chano RV Park

Only stayed here one night but found it really comfortable with friendly owners. The wifi was fast, the shower had hot water, our pull-through site had RV hook ups. There were also basic areas for tents in the front for 100p/night. There is only one bathroom to accommodate the campground but never had any trouble with waiting. Cost 150p/night

October 25th, 2016 Santa Ines

Amazing secluded spot right on the sea. Like described, 3 mile road to get there is a rocky, dirt road. We made it fine in our 2wd vanagon, but opted to deflate tires coming out. Definitely worth the effort if your vehicle can make it. Again, keep right at both forks in the road when going in. Spent two nights out here with only one other camper down the road from us. Free!

October 25th, 2016 Camping Petates

We stayed here late Oct 2016 for 2 nights. Initially the placed didn't look opened but we raised the gate and parked anyway. Someone did end up coming over to collect money in the evening. The facilities included a cement counter to cook on and 2 non-flush toilets (with buggies at night). The campground itself was beautiful though, situated along the water with date palm trees everywhere. Price was 80p/night.

October 24th, 2016 Military Checkpoint

Easy, waved through.

October 23rd, 2016 Military Checkpoint

Basic questions - where are we coming from and going. No inspection of our vehicle though.

October 23rd, 2016 Military Checkpoint

Military checkpoint, one person came into our vanagon to do a search for a minute, asked us a few questions.

October 13th, 2016 Shepherd Hot Springs

Free pull off to camp near a natural springs hot tub which was amazing! Beautiful scenery too. Recommend parking away from the hot tub as several people showed up at 4am to use the hot tub and party.

October 12th, 2016 Hartley Springs CG - Free

Great free campground with lots of spots, fire pits, picnic tables and pit toilets. Had the place to ourselves, except for the crazy amount of bees.
