Great little campground next to train tracks and cute little town. Owners super nice. Clean bathrooms. Little store. Electric, water dump station. Washing up sink. $25 per night. Saw tent campers camping near the river bank, not sure what they pay.

February 6th, 2019 La Ponderosa

$200 UYP pppn. 5 year old free. $250 for camper. Pools clean, hot showers, electric, wifi. Lots of uneven ground but we found a spot. Busy but not too overwhelming in high season. Grounds and buildings a bit worn down, and some litter about. Lots of locals, kids, families and surprisingly quiet in the night.

February 2nd, 2019 ACA Station and campground, town of 9 de Julio

Very nice stop. An actual along the left side of the gas station with BBQ, tables, sinks, and playground. Station attendants close the main bathrooms at night but opened the handicapped bathroom for us after hours. Bathrooms very clean. Everything opened up again at 7am.

February 1st, 2019 Camping Casa Del piedra

Arrived around 9pm, the street lamps in the camping area made it easy to figure out where to park. Several families were cooking at the BBQs, and it was very calm and quiet around. We were surprised to find an open WIFI in the campground named "WIFI" that worked well enough for us to book plan tickets. Bathrooms are good enough. The place is still free.

January 16th, 2019 YPF forecourt

Parked right in front of the hotel rooms so we had a patch of grass to step onto coming out of the camper. Good stop, the regular truck stop noises with the big rigs coming and going.

January 15th, 2019 Information Touristica Cerro Sombrero

Best shower of all time! Parking is a little tricky at the moment because of the construction around the building. They are make Ng new parking lot. We parked in front of the bull dozer late at night. No issues. Awoke to friendly workers telling us it was still no problem. Quiet little corner, maybe a handful of cars passed in the night. Open wifi was good for us too.

January 14th, 2019 Rio Cambaceres, Haberton Estancia

Beautiful area to camp. Wild horses will surely visit your camp, one even licked the dew off our friend's van in the morning. Grey fox hung around for a while too. Spots on either side of bridge are wind protected, unlike the area marked as camping in Felt very end of the road and satisfying...but still drove the additional hour to the actual end of the road.

January 13th, 2019 Free Rio Pipo

One of the most beautiful spots we have camped on our entire trip. We parked our camper right next to the river. Wild horses milled around, and we had the best views of the mountains. Chemical Toilets were clean and not smelly at all. Hike to small waterfall is more like a walk, flat and takes no time at all. 3G claro service in the campground.

January 12th, 2019 Laguna Verde Free camping

Nice campground. Campers can park along the river. Bathrooms clean, park rangers really friendly. Great hiking trails all around.

January 11th, 2019 Camping Hain

Very cool place on the lake. Bathrooms dated but clean with paper. Very Hot water in showers. Playground across the road free when staying. Our kid loved it!

January 10th, 2019 Camping Lago Blanco

Loved it here! Nice drive here from the king penguins through great forest. Great wind protection, plenty of firewood and great views. Forest huge with many large trees in lieu of pit toilets that are no longer here.

January 3rd, 2019 Propane Gas (GasCo)

Attendant said he couldn't do it because not legal. After telling him that we were empty and waited .until arriving here because friends said they got propane here, he filled and asked us not to tell anyone. we are telling everyone. Oy! Perhaps only go if you are really in trouble with your propane level and be discreet and cool to the attendants.

January 2nd, 2019 Parking Motor Home - Camping

The place is definitely open, year-round. If the owners are not around when you arrive, you are welcome to drive into the front yard, and hang out until they arrive. (we had parked in the back yard, where you have to drive around to the back gate...more secluded from the road). Owners are at the house at these times:

8am - 10am
1pm - 3pm
8pm onwards

You can also contact Maria Inés to communicate your arrival and ask questions.
1. WhatsApp or Cell Phone Call: +56996495420
2. Email: [email protected]
They speak primarily Spanish, but use Google Translate a lot.

I can not say enough nice things about this family. They are warm and generous and welcomed us into their home immediately. They invited us to join them at the table where we shared English Tea, homemade apple crumb cake, and toast with homemade jam. While we sat and talked (with lots of Google Translate help) our 5 year old plopped down on their couch watching cartoons and getting one slice of toast after another from Maria.

We parked close to the house to get the wifi, which is slow at times, but decent enough. Otherwise, we just hung out on the couch in their house. Lot is level enough for us to detach our camper, and take the truck into town for repairs. Had electricity, and of course usage of their very nice bathroom inside the house. They have adult children now, and are very comfortable with small children about the house. They are social and helpful, and really just lovely people. Wish they were closer to town, but oh well.

December 14th, 2018 Puerto Sanchez - Lakeside near docks

We arrived around 6pm, and jumped on a boat tour that evening because it was still sunny. Camped right in front of the boat dock where we were already parked, just a tiny bit east of this location. Lovely night, and tourist office has no issues letting you use bathroom...just bring paper cause they don't always have it.

December 14th, 2018 Salto del Río Ibáñez

Gorgeous waterfall with gushing water. We liked the are so much we stopped and played on the beach area building rock walls and playing games for a long while. We have a 5 year old :)

December 14th, 2018 El maitenal campground / climbing area

Beautiful drive to this area, especially the waterfall on the way. Owners weren't here, but the caretaker welcomed us and showed us where to park. We didn't go to camping area because we're in a truck camper. Bathroom clean with seat and paper, surprise for this remote of a location :). Nice washing up sink too. Grounds around facilities are shared with sheep so do watch your step.

December 12th, 2018 Las Torres del Simpson

$6,000 pppn, 4,000 for children. Nacho and Sandra are great people. Nacho even took our son to help cut trees and work a little in the greenhouse. Very patient man. Also gave us lots of fishing tips and places to go, in addition to a wonderful lesson on drinking mate. Bathrooms awesome, best hot shower in a long while.

December 10th, 2018 Refugio Rio Cisnes

Super friendly couple, beautiful grounds. Bathrooms clean, cafe was cozy. Still $5,000 pppn, our 5 yo free.

December 10th, 2018 Queulat Campground, Ventisquero Colgante

Very pretty and each site very secluded.

December 7th, 2018 Vientos Del Sur

Paid $12,000 to pull our truck camper into the yard. Wifi and electric included. 2 adults, and 5 year old. bathroom has a tub and very nice pressure hot shower head that can be removed from wall. We were here by ourselves and enjoy yes hanging out under the tree in the yard, as in the sun it was scorching hot. You can by fishing license in this town.

December 6th, 2018 Volcan Chaiten Sendero

We didn't make it out of the tree-line as some of the steps were up to our 5 year old waist! And the steep part was still ahead. But even making it that far, the hike was great, beautiful views from the two scenic view points we conquered on our 1.5 hours up. Trail was in good condition. And do leave early....the heat, and the horse flies start to get pretty horrible when the sun is overhead!

December 2nd, 2018 Eco-Camping Viñas Nant y Fall

New prices. $250 pppn, children under 5 are half price. Lovely place, very nice owner. Tell in advance that you were recommended by iOverlander and get discount to $230 pppn. This can change in future, so check website!

November 25th, 2018 Camping Catrue at Anticura

Prices increased to $6,0000 pppn. They have website with prices. Restaurant burned down, so they are rebuilding now and wifi will be back when they reopen that. In the meantime they will give you wifi password which works at cabana #3. Men's hot showers are cray hot...and awesome. Women's hot shower wasn't working while we were there due to storm that came through two days prior. Hikes although not strenuous or far, take you to two amazing waterfalls. We loved it. Look for the big hollow tree on the Indio trail...our 5 year old thought it was the bomb.

November 25th, 2018 Camping Unquehue

$770 pesos for two adults, 1 kid in truck camper....and no wifi. Looked nice but we passed because of price.

November 24th, 2018 COPEC gas station

Another good COPEC! This one with better wifi for certain. Play area, and this one has some flat grassy areas in the back for rooftop tents and other tents to feel more comfy then being out front. French fries still good!

November 23rd, 2018 Saltos del Petrohué

Thought it was very nice, and the loop trail quite beautiful with many scenic spots. Do come early to miss the crowd! Could possibly park along the road further down to save on the $1,000 parking fee. The water was powerful when we were there. Really enjoyed it, plus the views of volcano Osorno along with the rushing water.

November 22nd, 2018 Camping Los Copihues

Still great place. We experienced a crazy first night with winds so bad, the rain was coming through our windows and the lake looked like the sea, followed by second day when sun came out, lake was flat as a mirror, and everything was fantastic. Staff nice, black dog even nicer, and everything clean. Each camp area spacious with fire pit. $6k pppn, 5 year old free.

November 21st, 2018 COPEC Southbound, Osorno

Good place. Has kids clean and fenced in play area. Free women's shower in the women's disabled stall, but the water is only Luke warm. Go to the coed showers for your unlimited hot water shower. All facilities spotless here. The regular truck traffic and highway noise. Restaurant has good French fries! Wifi painfully slow, occasionally good, but can pick up from your vehicle if you park right in front like we did. The three parking spots in the back, would be good for those in roof top tents, more privacy.

November 20th, 2018 PN Huerquehue TENTS ONLY

Loved this place! Although lot fills during the day, completely empty in the evening, and blissfully quiet at night. Two brand new bathrooms on the path to the lake, along with the ones at the nature center. There are outlets next to the benches in front of the nature center, and if you had a super long extension court, you could possibly have electric overnight. Additional outlets in each of the new bathrooms as well. We drove in at 7pm, looked for someone to register, no luck. We stayed for two nights without paying anything. No one comes by to check on cars in the parking least in off season. Both evenings we enjoyed bottle of wine by the lake, water is clear and beautiful. Occasional hiker comes along and takes a swim. If we didnt have to keep moving, could have stayed here much longer!

November 18th, 2018 Parque Camping Estero Cobulto

Lovely place, stream views on every camp spot! Even in the cold and damp during our stay during some rainy days it was nice to wander around. Very clean bathrooms. We were the only ones here during our stay and the owners were very kind.
