March 22nd, 2020 Coronado National Forest

One of our favorite camping spots so far. Road in is washboard, but just go slow. Very quiet, creekside gravel spots. Several fire rings and plenty of firewood. Minimal bugs and beautiful view of the mountains. Wish we could have stayed more than one night. No amenities and no cell service on ATT.

March 21st, 2020 Public parking in Bisbee

Stayed one night while visiting the super cute town of Bisbee. One other van looked to be staying here. Right in the middle of town and a local store owner told us it was OK, so we felt safe. Many of the spots are not level as everything in Bisbee is on a hill.

March 16th, 2020 Free Sani dump, potable water, and propane

Free dump station with potable water. They also have 20 gallon propane canisters for sale in the gas station.

March 16th, 2020 Showers at Edith Ball Rec Center

When truck stops are charging $12 for a shower, this pool is where it's at. $2 per person to swim and if you have kids they have a fun outdoor area. Great place for a little fun and a shower!

March 13th, 2020 Agua Blanca Ranch BLM

I would not consider this a "big" gravel lot like the original post described. However small, we had a pleasant night sleep with three other small RV/vans. Gorgeous views of the mountains and sunset.

March 12th, 2020 BLM next to VFW

Fine for a one night stay on your way to something else. Loud due to it's proximity to the highway, train tracks, and military base. No amenities, not even a trash can. We stayed here due to flash flooding in the surrounding BLM spots.

March 11th, 2020 Fortuna Pond, BLM

OK place to stay for one night. Kind of trashy with lots of garbage and toilet paper in the bushes. I would NOT recommend staying here if rain is in the forecast and you don't have 4WD. The rain today washed out three main exit roads. Coincidentally we had rented a 4WD truck for the day so we were able to travel the backcountry roads to find a safe way to get our 2WD van out.

March 9th, 2020 Fisher's Landing

$5 per person for dry camping. Dry camping is a little ways from the lake, in a gravel parking lot, but they do have a bar with live music, grill, convenience store, and post office. Cash only at the restaurant, but can pay for your camping by card. Drinking water for sale at $0.25 a gallon. Decent spot for one night, but we were the youngest people here by at least 40 years. Lake seems to be more popular with motorized boats.

March 7th, 2020 Mittry Lake BLM

Spent two nights here. Good for free BLM camping, but a lot of bugs and even more entitled snow birds. The lake is very popular with boating on the weekend. Pit toilet and large dumpsters on site.

March 6th, 2020 Mexicali West

AVOID THE FAR RIGHT LANE! You will be cut off by no less than 50 motorcycles and spend at least another hour waiting in line.

March 4th, 2020 Papa Fernandez

Very tranquil spot by the bay that is well worth the 100 MX. There were two other vans here so we felt safe, although the drive in from the highway looks a little apocalyptic with a bunch of (seemingly) abandoned RV. Be aware that HWY 5 is now complete, but we saw at least four crews picking up rocks that had fallen into the roadway. Unfortunately we caught one and popped a tire.

March 3rd, 2020 Malarrimo RV Park

Was an OK place to spend two nights while in town to see the whales. Overpriced at 285 MX, but not a lot of other safe/secure areas in town. The restaurant is basically only seafood and the bar is pretty spendy. We also did the Malarrimo whale tour and it was 100% worth the $50. Just FYI, the tour comes with lunch which we didn't know about. We're vegetarian so couldn't eat the sandwiches.

February 29th, 2020 Juncalito Beach

Great spot with a gorgeous view of the ocean and mountains. Several other friendly overlanders so we felt very safe. Be sure to turn at the blue "Juncalito Bienvenidos" sign instead of the road GPS tells you to take (that road has been blocked off in the village).

February 28th, 2020 Misiones RV Park (formerly Manfred's RV Park)

Paid 280 peso for a dry spot after our Sprinter broke down in Cuidad Constitution. They wouldn't negotiate on price even though we were the only people here (unfortunately we didn't have a choice). We had a good time enjoying the pool, but everyone should know there are a ton of hornets and biting bugs IN the water. My daughter and I are now covered in welts. Probably not worth the price.

February 19th, 2020 Camino Cabo Este

A resort bought up this section of road and it is entirely blocked off.

February 3rd, 2020 La Pastora

Great spot to spend a few days while exploring Todos Santos. About 30 cars/vans/RV here the last three days so we felt very safe. Awesome to wake up and watch the surfers and whales.

January 31st, 2020 Rancho Pacifico Baja

Awesome property and great hosts. We stayed here one night in our van and couldn't have asked for more. My daughter and I laid in the hammock for hours watching all the birds and butterflies. $200 pesos well spent!

January 15th, 2020 CAMPING and RV Adele's Ranch Baja California

Such an amazing place to rest on your drive down the Baja. We stayed for one night in our van and would have gladly paid twice as much. Nelly and Felipe are incredible hosts and endearing humans. They catered to our 3 year old daughter by showing her all about farm life. We hope to return someday.

January 12th, 2020 Belmont Street Parking

Easy street parking with no "no overnight parking" signs. We have slept here for three nights in a sprinter van (leaving during the day) and have had no problems. Close to Belmont Amusement Park and restaurants. There is a parking lot next door where we have seen a few van/RV, but that lot does have signs that say no parking from 2-4 AM.

January 9th, 2020 Fiesta island

Car with a loud speaker drove by at 9:00 PM saying they were "closing down the island for the night." Two police cars at the entrance and exit when we left at 9:15.

December 29th, 2019 Port Orford Sunset free

We slept here last night in our Sprinter van. No "no parking" signs like earlier review said.
