March 23rd, 2021 Malarrimo RV Park

We’ve stayed at this RV park at least five nights over the past two years. Nothing extraordinary, but we feel safe here and we can have a shower. We did the whale tour again this year and it was even radder than before. WiFi seemed to be working better this year if you park closest to the restaurant. There is also a good super mercado in town that is worth the stop for supplies.

March 23rd, 2021 Dump at Santispac

Sanitation dump behind Armando’s restaurant. Not sure of the cost, but ask the guys in the office. It is free to use the beach for the day and $200 MX to camp, so probably cheaper than that. Likely could use it without paying, but I suggest giving them some money.

March 21st, 2021 Playa Santispac

We have stayed at Playa Santispac at least seven times between our Baja trips in 2020 and 2021. We really love it and think it is an amazing beach if you have small kids. We’ve never noticed any sand fleas, but will attest that is can get very windy and crowded at times. One of the best things about this location is the sanitation dump which is included in your stay. It is hard to find decent dumps in Baja, especially for smaller chemical toilets. We have no problem paying the $200 MX per night to enjoy this beautiful area.

March 20th, 2021 Wildcamping on the beach

USE THE COORDINATES LISTED BELOW TO FIND THE ENTRANCE!!! Once you make it down this side road there are 5 spots to the right that can accommodate most rigs. That being said, the entire dirt road to get to Agua Verde is pretty sketch with steep cliffs and hairpin turns for over an hour. 4WD not mandatory, but you absolutely need a high clearance vehicle (we are in a 2WD Sprinter). I would recommend only making the trek if you plan to stay multiple days, otherwise it is not worth it. The beach is beautiful though and we do love free camping. No cell service on ATT and no amenities.

March 20th, 2021 Agua Verde

Do not try this without 4WD!!! We accidentally ended up at this spot trying to get to another pin in the area. Before we knew it we were stuck in the sand with the tide rising. Thankfully there were some locals with a truck and rope who came to give us a hand, but they were definitely expecting some money. We gave them $500 MX and they asked for more so it ended up costing us $1000 MX. Expensive mistake on our end, but they were nice and we’re lucky they were there to help us.

March 18th, 2021 Martin Verdugo's Beach Resort

Stayed here for two night and wish we could have stayed longer! $18 USD per night in the tent camping area, but you get access to showers, WiFi, beach, and pool. Central location in town so everything is walkable. Good cell service on ATT. We did try to stay here last year, but it was fully booked. Worth calling to see if they take reservations if you will be in Los Barriles during the busy season.

March 17th, 2021 Beach camping / hot spring

Stayed here one night and loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Only people who overnighted and few people showed up during the day. The hot springs are a blast to build, but some can be really hot so be careful if you have kids. The road in is pretty bumpy, but we managed in a 2WD Sprinter. Very limited cell service on ATT (in-and-out of one bar of 3g). No amenities, but free!

March 7th, 2021 Casa Caravan Baja

Dump prices range from $10 USD for a class B or van, $15 for a class C, and $20 for a class A. Message Casa Caravan Baja on Facebook and they will send you the lock code. Payment is on the honor system. Non-potable water available for 25 cents per gallon. We used this dump a few times while in the area as there isn’t much else. Easy and convenient, although we thought it was a little pricy to dump a 5 gallon toilet.

March 5th, 2021 La Pastora

Just stayed another week here and it is one of our favorite spots we’ve boondocked. Due to Covid there was 1/4 the number of people as last year, but the whales and surf are still raging. No amenities, but free and dreamy. Do everyone a favor and clean up after your dog (or don’t go barefoot because there is dog poop everywhere)!!! In-and-out cell service on ATT.

March 4th, 2021 Romanita RV Park

Love this RV park and it’s close proximity to everything in town. Sad to see it so empty compared to this time last year. This place has everything you need, showers, laundry, electricity, and WIFI. Paid 250 MX for a site with electricity.

February 27th, 2021 Victor’s RV Park

This is our second time staying at Victor's. The dry lot was full so they had us park next to the bathrooms for 200 MX. This place was very busy, but the beach was empty and we enjoyed it. The restaurant and bar are open even with Covid. Would recommend as a safe spot to stay after crossing the border.

February 25th, 2021 Plomosa Road BLM camping

Stayed here one night and it was fine. Lots of other overlanders, but we followed the road closer to the Day Use area and had the spot to ourselves. No amenities, but free. Good cell service on ATT.

February 24th, 2021 BLM camping free!

Stayed one night here and it was fine (we preferred Craggy Wash which is a little north of LHC). Many other campers, but easy to find privacy. It was very windy when we were there. Relatively close to town and good cell service on ATT. No amenities, but free.

February 23rd, 2021 Havasu State Park

Still $15 to dump. The gate staff told us this is only for the dump station and does not allow you to stay in the park for the day (which would be another $15 entrance fee). No one is monitoring the dump so I imagine you could pay the $15 park entrance fee and sneak over to the dump, just sayin’ I wish that is what we would have done. Potable water is also available.

February 19th, 2021 Craggy Wash Camp

We stayed here five nights and loved it. Definitely a popular place, but we found a spot perched on top of a hill with a lot of privacy. Easily 100+ rigs out here, but the road goes on a long ways. Road in is in good condition and suitable for everyone. Less than 10 minutes to town. No amenities. Great cell service on ATT. And best of all, FREE!

February 17th, 2021 Dumont Dunes

Great dry camping spot right next to some massive sand dunes. $30 per week and you can buy the permit here at a kiosk. It is popular with OHV, so it can get loud (I’d avoid the weekends). Pit toilets available. Good cell service on ATT.

February 16th, 2021 Tecopa Warm Pool dispersed Camping

We loved overnighting here! The pool was warm and felt great after not having a shower in a while. We were the only ones here most of the time, but a group did show up to use the pool late at night and they were pretty loud. The road in is doable in any rig. No amenities and no cell service.

February 16th, 2021 Dumping of the death ;)

Free dump and water are open! Water tastes a bit like chlorine, just in case you are sensitive to it.

February 15th, 2021 Lake Hill Dispersed Camping

Stayed here one night and had no issues. We didn’t see any other campers, but there were several cars driving up and down the road so not totally private. This spot is about 30 minutes from Mesquite Sand Dunes and an hour from Furnace Creek. Not much else over here. No amenities and no cell service on ATT.

February 14th, 2021 Echo Canyon Road

Stayed here one night without issues. The road in is bumpy, but we went quite a ways up in a 2WD Sprinter. Gorgeous views of the valley. Only problem is it is hard to find a flat spot. Poor cell service on ATT with only two bars of Edge.

February 13th, 2021 Poverty Flats

Spent another night here, but this time it was very windy. Might be hard to tent camp like this so check the forecast. Still a ton of campers in this area, but easy to find a spot with privacy. No amenities. Good cell service on ATT.

February 12th, 2021 Kingman Wash

Not often you find a waterfront campsite for free! Quite a few people here during the day and overnight, but didn’t feel crowded. The road in is three miles off the highway and bumpy with several tight turns. We made it no problem in a 2WD Sprinter. Some people definitely come here to party, so don't expect total peace and quiet. Good cell service on ATT.

February 11th, 2021 Kaibab National Forest

Super convenient spot in the forest right outside Grand Canyon NP. Road in is well maintained and I imagine you could get any size rig back here. No amenities, but free! Good cell service on ATT.

February 7th, 2021 Galpin Auto & Rv

Free dump is still open during business hours!

February 6th, 2021 Forest 525 Road

Stayed here for six nights at different sites every day. Such a beautiful area!

February 5th, 2021 Lake Pleasant BLM

Stayed here another night without issue. Lots of people this weekend, but still not bothered by OHV or donkeys.

February 4th, 2021 Apache sands

Dump is $8 and open from 7 am-4 pm. Have to get the key from the attendant in the booth by the gas pumps.

February 1st, 2021 public land

Stayed here another four nights and had no issues. The garbage piles we saw last year have been cleaned up and no unruly neighbors this time. The views of Superstition Mountains seriously cannot be beat. We caught the most epic sunset of our lives here! No amenities. Good cell service on ATT. Free!

January 30th, 2021 Blm north side Snyder Hill Tucson Az

This is our second time staying here and have never had an issue. It is crowded, but easy to find a spot even in the dark or on a weekend. No amenities, but it is free. Decent cell service on ATT.

January 29th, 2021 Baylor Canyon road

Stayed here again and this place was very popular on a Friday night! 15+ overlanders so get here early if you plan to visit on a weekend.
