March 20th, 2017 Harris Beach Rest Area

This is also Harris Beach state park. Great sites, some ocean view, very good toilet blocks and lots of space between sites. Beach access. We paid $20 for a tent site- rates go up to $29 for full hookup

March 19th, 2017 Parking Hotel (Pine Beach Inn)

Pine tree in. Friendly owner Rafael, formerly from Guadalajara, let us use the office restroom ( open 730am-10pm) and stay in our camper in the parking lot. Fast wifi near restaurant and beach access. $10

Parked on Mexican side and walked into no mans land through gate to banjerciti. Very nice but only one worker so took quite awhile. He took our sticker then back through gates to get TIP refund and stamp out at immigration

January 28th, 2017 Veterarian, Dogtor House

We first came to see Dr Gabriel last year when we lost Porter and back this year because Aspen needed a minor surgery for a growth on her eye. Clean, great staff and very friendly. Reasonably priced at US standards.

Good tacos and great papa loca. Super friendly staff

January 26th, 2017 TMC and Baja Ferry

Tec Mazatlan-la Paz. Paid 5950mx for our truck camper, two people and one dog. Would have been 4747mx but we were just over 6meters long. Top row with all the truckers

January 20th, 2017 Balneario San Juan

Deserted this time of year. SUPER windy, dry and dusty but we were able to park against the wall for some shelter. Very friendly owner $350 for 1night. We didn't get in the pools- not super clean but assuming not cleaned as often with no other guests

January 19th, 2017 Hotel Baruk Teleférico y Mina

Hotel next to tram with great views of this colorful city. At 8200ft it was cold but still a convenient spot to spend a couple of nights. We didn't use the electrical although it was available. Wifi and a key to the bathroom/ shower. Really spends at 350mx but great location.

Cute and dog friendly restaurant in lower level across the street from Antigua Trattoria. Good authentic Thai food and they even gave Aspen a little plate of chicken and rice on the house

December 27th, 2016 El Manglar

A good restaurant on a big beach. Pool decent but after an afternoon of vacationing families the bathrooms were some of the most disgusting we have seen. Ever. 200mx/night which seemed high but gorgeous morning before we headed out.

December 26th, 2016 Tepetepan Villas and RV Park

Pros: a big grassy field, showers, pool, etc. cons he considered our truck camper an rv so charged us a ridiculous 300mx. Walking to stores etc and just fine for 1 night

December 23rd, 2016 La Pavola cafe

Cute little coffee shop on pedestrian street downtown. 2 capuchins for 25mx!!

December 23rd, 2016 Rancho San Nicolas

Back again. Continuing improvements on property but internet still sucks. 200mx/night. They didn't charge us for Aspen this time

December 21st, 2016 Lagos de Colón

Serene spot next to the water after a London day/ border crossing. 20mx pp, bathrooms, no hookups

November 9th, 2016 Crossroads Cafe

Great little expat bar run by a world traveler

October 12th, 2016 Pasaj cap - Lago Atitlan

Amazing views! The cottage is very comfortable but it's all about the view. Less convenient to town but Pierre and his great staff do all the can to provide meat, wine , pate etc. we didn't experience it as much as some because of having Aspen with us but it's a truly gorgeous place. I only rank as a 4star because of the dog inconvenience but that is just our issue.
