March 9th, 2018 Hotel

This is a hotel on the Cay Islands. Perfect to relax after a few days on Utila. Rooms are quiet nice and a double room with private bathroom and hot shower is 30 USD per night. If you want to have A/C it's a bit more. Free Coffee and water. Lunch meal is 7 USD. There's a kitchen where you can cook your own meal. The boat ride from Utila (beside the ferry dock) is 50 lpm per person. You can rent snorkel gear or get a boat ride arranged to the smaller islands nearby. There are restaurants (even a cheaper fast food) and small shops on the Island.
The hotel has a really nice reef in front where you can snorkel.

March 1st, 2018 Camping at Hotel

You can camp in front of a hotel, a few feet from the water. There's a shower and a toilet. Everything is very basic. 100 per night, per vehicle.
The owners can arrange a boat ride to Palacio or wherever you want to go. We paid 500 for a 1-2 hour ride.
This small town is one of the parts of Honduras where only few tourists go.
The road to Batalla is dirt/mud and sand. You should have a 4wd high clearance to get here. Please ask the locals in Bonito Oriental if it's safe at the moment before you go. We drove it in 2 days, about 9h in total but it depends on the road conditions. At the moment the upper road at the beach is closed and you need to drive inland. There are a few junctions on the way. If you like to have the gpx-track please send us an email through Facebook.

February 27th, 2018 comedor

Great Comedor with fresh drinks and huge main courses. A plate is between 80 and 100 and really a lot of food. Very tasty.

February 23rd, 2018 Camping at Rancho

This is a beautiful Rancho that's still in construction. They let us camp for 7.- per night, per vehicle. It's basically just a small, flat area where you can park your vehicle. You may be able to camp further down the road as well and set up a tent there. The lookout is really great and just 50m away. Can get windy up here but the temp is much better to sleep then at the beach. Basic bathroom with toilet. Picknick-Tables and a small shop available. And of course a great view over the bay.
The road is no problem in a 2WD. Maybe a bit of clearance is nice to have.

February 4th, 2018 Cocolito Campground

Great place to spend a few nights near the water. Large Campsite with tables. Very friendly. Still 5 per night per site. There's surf nearby. you can enter it, coming from North, at the second exit (not the first one where the sign is). That might be easier with bigger rigs.

We stayed here about a week to go to the Spanish school. It's 50 per car. Warm showers, clean Restrooms and wifi. The parking lot is not very crowded and your just a few minutes away from the market and the schools. But it's not very quiet, even at night. But I don't think any location in town would be.

We camped at this property after asking for permission. The camping was free. No facilities. Next day we got a private tour from the owner.
