I couldn’t park here because the sand floor was very soft and my big motorhome almost got stuck. I paid 35000 pp and they return the money back

There is a locked gate blocking this off. Go to the NFS road just to the west for a free spot to stay in between hitting multiple springs.

Small hotel with 16 private rooms. Brand new and very clean. Hot water showers and super clean bathrooms. Great owner who speaks English and very helpful. I had some problems with my vehicle and the owner brought to his mechanic and even drove me to get the part needed for my vehicle. He went above and beyond. Great location and price. Paid 200 pesos a night for a room with a shared bathrooms. Rooms with bathrooms are available. There is no parking at the hotel but is available down the block for 50 pesos a night. Six RV sites behind the Cracker Barrel. Very quiet! Barely can hear the highway. Hard to level a B-van w/o blocks, but lots of nice options. Line of car parking up against trees is second option. Felt very safe

Reasonably good campsites with clean ablutions. Elephants walking through the grounds by the waterhole. 130 Pula pp. Friendly owners. Although 1,5 km from the road, you can hear the trucks in a distance which takes away some of the peaceful feeling.

to enter the barrier at the carpark you pay 100 pesos you will get a ticket with you regitration number... I entered after 5pm the barrier was up.
to camp it's free. NOT 100 pesos per night. the money goes to the community. Going on a boat tour or eating in the restaurant is better than handing out pesos randomly

100 pesos to enter the barrier not to camp. Camping is free (Federal Land)
make sure you get a ticket when you enter, and pay, with your reg number on. Barrier is left open at 5pm.

Fantastic spot! It run on donation. They are in the process of constructing a bathhouse. Currently only a few portajohns. The river runs through the back of the property and there is an amazing spot for swimming and hanging by the water. The camp host Hoss, is the best. Let him know that Jay sent you and he will take really great care of you. BTW All the water from the spouts is potable despite being label as not. The city forced them to labe as such because they wouldn't pay to have 'city' water plumbed in to the property. It comes from a spring and was perfectly fine.

Nice place with an awesome beer and food.
The security guard allowed us to spend a night on the parking, where we can use the wifi.

The cellphone signal is poor on this region.

Our truck is in the storage of Gerhard and Sini since August 2020 already.
Gerhard has send us a little video while starting our truck. It sounded very well.
He went to the Custom for us to stamp our old Carnet out . The Carnet with the Substitution Letter got a new stamp.
For this procedure the price is 800 rd, which is fine.
We are happy to know that the custom job is done, while we are in Germany.
Thanks a lot, Gerhard!

Nice laundry with lots of large washers. Free WiFi & decent bathroom.
It’s Usually pretty clean except today.
Snacks, pop, two change machines.

This used to be a drive-thru so it’s right on the corner of 2nd & Poplar, and has a big garage door.

Near air strip.
Super easy to find and works for a night. Nothing special but far enough from the road to be completely quiet.

Met Filip in town today and we spoke with him while he showed us around and eventually guided us to Gambia Place. He's a really knowledgeable and interesting person to talk to, but his job is guiding tourists. We gave him some money as well, but know that it probably doesn't go to the charity he talks about, so pay as much as you think the guide service is. I'm not trying to dissuade people from taking to him and he did give us great information on the Garifuna (the restaurant is amazing, too and on iO), just a note that the money most likely goes to his pocket, so pay accordingly.

Pulled up here late at night, no one bothered us & we even got to sleep in a bit, we first tried Harbor Freight but it was way to loud and close to the train tracks
Safeway was a little lively throughout the night but nothing crazy, decent spot if you can’t find anywhere else

The Namibrand is one of the most beautiful places we have camped.
The only issue was the flies - they are a big problem.
There was also no water in waterhole during our stay - we did report this. We are not sure they are checked very regularly.

Definitely a permanent sign that says “day use only” upon entering the island. Didn’t chance it overnight because it also seems like a parking lot for the marina.

The lodge is closed.
They offer expensive tented accommodation now, and camping on Cheetah campsite.
The campsite is in steep and rocky terrain, with little shade.
The small sites for the tents are levelled, but no way to drive a car with a rooftop tent onto the sites.
Access road is steep, not suitable for trucks.
They have a small bar and restaurant, but very pricey.
Since there is no room to sit at the tent, they built a covered sitting area, where they will lit a camp fire at night.
Electricity all day, there are socket outlets at the sitting area!
No cash payments accepted, except for meals and drinks.
Nice view over the plain below, but void of animals.
What you will see is Masai grazing their cattle!
Disappointing.
Better to skip and drive straight to Tsavo West, e.g. to the beautiful campsite at Lake Jipe.
