Large flat space just west of library building. Toilets toward the rear of the lot. Water spicket behind toilets.
We stayed two nights. After our first night, we asked at the library if a second night would be a possibility and they said no problem.
The border with Mexico is a few hundred yards away!

Very safe, well lit, nice bathrooms at the end of the park. One other van parked along the park. I recommend not parking in front of the houses. Several people working out and playing soccer until about 9pm. Wasn’t bothered but a walker did a double take when I got out of the van at 6:30 am to let the dog out. Many walkers and runners out early. Keep it stealth. Respect this spot, I don’t expect it to be around long.

Great spot for the night. Overnight parking permitted; in doing my research, I found that people who do the Cactus to Clouds hike (a 20-miler) park here. 2 blocks from public restrooms open 8am - 10pm and within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants. Great views of the Santa Rosa Mts, too!

Small parking lot at the beginning of a trail head. Sign that says no overnight camping in the parking lot.

Worked well for us as a quick stay overnight. Just off i10 highway. Next to lake charles war memorial. Quite a bit of damage from last storm: war memorial, the lake piers and buildings nearby. Had no issues with parking area. 2 other vans stayed overnight as well. Nice park on lake and enjoyed walking the war memorial in morning. Nice local bakery “sweets and treats” with freshly baked tea biscuits.

It's a small parking lot on a cliff next to the cave, which is located down on the beach. We spent one night there and we felt pretty safe. It's between Ñuro and Cabo Blanco in the middle of nowhere.

We stayed here for one night right under the Poas volcano. The view was absolutely stunning. The owner let us camp on his property and since the restaurant was closed it was quiet. We really enjoyed the sunset and the view over de city. The owner was also kind enough to let us use a bathroom

We loved this place. The owner charges 3500 cl per person for the waterfalls, which are really stunning - and 1500 cl per person for camping. There’s a shelter with a baño and shower, and lots of land to pick your spot. We really liked it here!

parking just behind the city center. we stayed 3 nights with our fairly quiet converted truck. there is a water hose on the side of the parking lot by the roadside which belongs to the neighboring Kiosko, we asked them and we were able to fill up with water.

Surprisingly quiet stay, although it is midweek in early March.

Ramadas, pit toilets, even a garbage drop-off area. Still free!

Be aware that the ramadas are scattered almost randomly and it's hard to see "roads" anywhere, so best to arrive during daylight.

Stay out of the ramadas in the wash at the end of the campground if you don't want to be constantly covered in the dust of passing side-by-sides.

Not a fan of this beach. We arrived mostly hoping for the shower and settled for a refreshing ocean bath. Showers are in complete disuse and don’t seem to work. Everyone who has commented on everything else is pretty spot-on. Hot springs were hard to find. We didn’t search for the tide-dependent springs, but the ones described as near the mouth of the bay were much further in than we thought. On our way out, we found out the inland hot spring wasn’t on the bay at all. If you drive toward the mangroves and continue past them, you’ll find a circular pool. This is one of the hot springs

Beautiful grass camping sites with electricity, water and a braai at each site. It is pet friendly but pets must be socialised. Chickens, ducks and geese roam the camp site freely.
