Great campground. Free so people clear out later than early but was full by 3 on weekends and had 1 or 2 open on a Monday night. I lucked out and grabbed the 1 high hillside campsite. There’s 2 in between sites also. Need 4x4 to get up there due to large holes in road but did it in Outback with a bit of slipping. No service. Drinking water. Nice place.

A great camp ground in the Flinders. You are next to the riverbed and a pleasant walk away from the yellow feet wallaby area. There is rain water tank for water and toilets. You can book it on line when you book your National Park pass.

Great location. We parked in the back instead of the front of the restaurant since we had 4 dogs with us. There was a decent size green space for our dogs to run for a few mins as well as potty. We also picked up a bunch of trash that people left so please everyone, clean up after yourself and leave the place better than you found it. That the only way that boondocks will continue.

5G Verizon 4 bars.

Southbounders, enjoy the Atacama's only tailwind until the downhill to Paposo begins at KM 33 (the km markers switch from counting up to down about halfway). Then strap in for a windy decent.
Northbounders, enjoy your only headwind in the Atacama 🙂

Nice big clearing at end of very easy hard packed dirt road. Off of Holston Creek Rd.

We had good wifi with a signal booster and Verizon.

Lots of wood around.

This forest is hard to find a place to camp in as most of the gates to small roads are closed. Several people came to look at this place in the two days we were there. Also a group of 11 vehicles with locals came to party, but when they saw us there they were respectful and left, saying whoever gets there first has it.

Still lots of trash. But some very great areas on a decent and flat gravel road that parallels the Rio Grande River. Several great turn outs and tuck-in areas within the 1st mile. Road gets very rutted with deep ruts the further you go along the road. A few good spots for RV’s or big rigs I stayed about five nights here and really enjoyed it. Good 3-4 bars of AT&T cell coverage. Rode my boat mountain bike along the dirt road and into the nearby quaint and fun town of Truth or Consequences.

Not recommended location not friendly people and expensive 25000 only parking and 45000 parking including access to the hotel (not bathroom no shower) they gave me power and nothing else...
I spoke to the manager telling him it was too expensive and he was very unfriendly and refuse to reconsider prices...
I got stuck here because My family book rooms here, we were traveling together to Minca and government order lockdown and quarantine... had to spend two days here...
Only recommend is bid watching in the restaurant (seasonal)

After a evening at the beach watching the sunset this place about 3 miles east in Pescadero was perfect. Safe, quiet, free public wifi, seemed legal. After it got dark many surfers showed up with their Vans for a nights rest. There was several clean portapotties and across the street is a gas station and store. The bar is closed due to Covid 19. Not private location and is near road but is great place to sleep in peace.

With the no reservation policy at the Laguna Mountain and Upper Sweetwater BLM Campgrounds, it can be hard to be sure of a spot. Fortunately there are a few roadside camp-legal spots that are actually quieter than the campground itself. There's one directly adjacent to the campground entrance, and one across the road, but we went to a wide spot a couple turns down which gets you away from the in-and-out traffic (not that it was too bad). Actually a very pleasant sport with a beautiful view of the galley. Walk to the campground pit toilets is about 10 minutes...also where the trailhead is for the hike into The Gorge and its waterfalls when water is running.

Quiet and far enough off main highway to not hear road traffic. Plenty of space for our two class b campers. And lots more space for more cars. Having river right by the spot was nice too.

Great spot, very quiet. A local recommended the opposite site of the lake, because it is less windy. We were already parked so we did not move, but might be good to know on a windy day.

Campground with maybe 25 spots. There is an RV loop and a campground loop. Beautiful views from up here. Waterfall hike is about 1 mile round trip. It looks like they are working on the road! Seemed that they evened it out and removed stones already. The drive up here was not too bad. There were some rougher spots, but it will get better any day now! Definitely worth it.

route from the North to Parque National 1857, hasn't seen a grading machine since 1858 .

ground clearance and TIME essential, 4x4 thankfull especially if the many mud pools are wet . part of the Baja 1000 route amazing scenery remote and no traffic, many pulling to stay.
the route SOUTH from the park is easier and shorter but still a challenge in muddy conditions Graded regular as most people enter the Parque from the south.
ie: more Tacate cans on the road!

nice spot not far from Epupa village, on the road to Ruacana and close to the river. you can be seen from the "road" but there is no traffic. it's just a pity they had just burnt the trees around.

Quiet row of a few established campsites. The lake loop trail is very nice and you can fish. Gravel road to get to the site but well managed. We went with no problem in a 28 foot skokie.

Pulled in there around 5:30 pm and the camp spot was occupied and there were about 5 other cars in the lot. We went down to the water for a couple minutes and that was really beautiful. It was very busy, I would say about 15 to 20 cars pulled in and out so it was not private. We decided not to stay overnight and ended up leaving due to the traffic. Also the road leading in is well maintained but very steep in a couple places. Vans and shorter RVs will be ok but we are a 28 foot skoolie and the steepness was a bit challenging. It would have been nice of it was empty but I would not recommend on a weekend or warmer seasons.

Pretty scrub oak and creek! One-way road with some rocky parts but doable in our 25’ motor home. About 10 minutes drive from the turnout to get down to camping sites with fire rings. Passed two large multi family camping groups and then found a decent pullout. Lots of ohv and dirt bikes, even at 9pm (full moon though) and 7:30am. But nice creek for kids to throw rocks. 2 bars att 4g.
