Great place. About $40 per night W/E with AAA, etc. Clean bathrooms,
great showers, nice staff. Trees and bushes on many spots. No road noise. Highly recommend.

Maybe my personal favorite campground we’ve found south of the states. We hit it for two nights after the weekend, so it was very quiet. We were the only campers, and there didn’t seem to be anyone in the cabins either. We enjoyed the restaurant food and drinks, and Caspian swung on the hammock while waiting for his meals. (Note: restaurant was closed for Monday dinner.) Perfectly located to visit the Xunantunich ruins and come back, and also to cross the border early in the morning. The highlight was most definitely the swimming access from the camping area, which we used every day to cope with the heat. We paid $35.70 BZD/night for two adults. Bathroom/showers are spacious and clean. (The one we tried oddly had *only* hot water, but I’m guessing that was a fluke.) We didn’t have a lot of trouble with bugs, and we could hear the howler monkeys in the distance at night. Just a beautiful, peaceful place to camp.

Don't miss this hike, it was the best hike we have done in mexico, the lakes are beautiful, the trail is well maintained and easy to follow and it's not too hot or humid!

Make sure to park at the guard station, he is very friendly and looks after ur rig. The hike starts 100m from the guard station to your left.
We first made the mistake and drove to the "5 lakes" entrance which is a bit further down the road, but there is no hiking trail on that side.

Easy 8km return 700ft elevation gain total, just goes up and down a little bit and you can swim at the end!

The fight between pueblos has been resolved and you can now walk from the north to the south or vice versa. I was told they worked things out kn January 2022. I stayed a night in the north and was one of two tourists there. Nice little town, very friendly people.

Still a great place to stay and seems like the only place open for tourists. If the owner isn’t there when you get there, ask around and someone will find her. Paid 40 bobs for a single room with shared bathroom. She wanted 70 bobs for a room with a private bath.

Just confirming that you can now walk to the north of the island, the villagers resolved their dispute as of January 2022

Stayed here for a couple nights before a river trip. There are a few sites right along the river that are nice. Cool petroglyphs. Toilet, trash, water spigot. Some road noise, but not bad.$15.

Quiet, beautiful spot on the lake. Had the site to ourselves overnight, though a handful of day visitors came up to walk dogs etc. Stayed for three nights.

Kevin is a super host. he helped us navigate the convoluted pet export process and when he thought his vet was to expensive he found another one that was cheaper. we came to Grenada to have some welding done on our bumper that broke while driving up to Miraflora Reserva. it just happened that he had a welder coming by to fix his door and was able to repair our problem as well. Kevin has been here for 18 years so he knows where to find everything and has awesome suggestions. we ended up spending 4 nights here. in and out privileges were a little lacking when Roger wasn't there. I'd recommend reaching out on WhatsApp before to make sure he is there. also in the reviews someone said they were 3.5m high and fit, but a large RV came to stay who said they were 3.54m high and weren't even close. I'm not sure who measured incorrectly but I would be careful if you're close to this height. and absolutely do not drive through the middle of town as the route Google has you take drives through a market and you will wish you hadn't. there is an easy road "C. Nueva" to turn down on the west side of town that bypasses that whole mess and drives past a Maxi Pali.

Kevin at Grenada RV park found this guy for us that only charged 400C each for our health certificates for our dogs. Kevin's vet wanted 50 bucks for the same thing and others wanted 70 in town! quick and easy. had the account numbers ready you will need to go to the bank to make deposits. one was 150c and the other was 13$.

Established campground in Higden, Arkansas off Greers Ferry Lake. The sites are pretty spacious with little privacy, but you’re right on the lake. Sites have electricity and two bars of Verizon service. Water is not available.

This is the perfect place to stay for the night if you like to go to the Volcano Poas early in the morning. We stayed on the parking lot one night for free because we eat in the restaurant a delicous dinner. Beautiful views down to the valley. Toilets open during business hours of the restaurant. From here it is a 10 minute drive to the entrance of the NP.

Spigot next to dumpsters by truck fueling area. Bought a couple tacos inside and asked to fill up, no problem! Be sure to not block access to the pumps.

Really nice parking spot next to the restaurant Paki point facing the beautiful waves all day. Latest price is $15 but we had access to power, wifi, showers (cold), you could use the restaurant kitchen for doing dishes, they refill tanks with drinking water included in that price. They also have a washer for clothes included. They don’t open the restaurant till noon so you have a white morning to work and close by 8 so you sleep peacefully. Wifi is slow. But overall the host Michael will help you with everything as he is committed to making this a lovely camper friendly facility.

100 BOB per person entrance fee, 100 BOB for a guide, up to us strongly overpriced. For us this site was very disappointing. Not much information, not well maintained. We didn’t take a guide. We at least expected to see (a part of) the irrigation system, that is described on the internet ... maybe it was somewhere, but there isn’t mentioned anything about it on the few poor information panels. We even weren’t allowed to take pictures during our visit outside ... our camera was ‘a little bit too large’ ... while it’s only a simple reflex camera.

Beautiful views from many sites along this good dirt road. There are some descents that go off into high clearance, possibly 4wd.
I did not have a "cell signal city" experience. Verizon was very weak, txt only. Weather, news, etc., all unavailable, for me.
Easy to get to with FWD SUV.
This site, and one other down the road are good tent sites.

bulk water fill with threaded hose but use their big red hose for more water. $1 gets you 3 minutes of water flow. using their hose we estimated this to be about 25 gallons. add your own hose or in line filters and you get less water for our money

Great place to have amazing tacos. They also have burritos and other things in the menu yet we have come here for years for the tacos. The family is very friendly and accommodating to our sometimes big group (during Baja 1000 race).

Hot springs (warm) were very relaxing after a day of driving. Staff were helpful and friendly, the wifi was below average. Campsites were reasonable as were the amenities. Clearly the repair work from flooding is still underway. The indoor pool area was quite a surprise. And as a side note wheelchair accessible too.
