This is a National Forest with free camping up to 14 days. The road is closed in the winter. There are multiple streams and rivers around this location. There are established campsites with fire rings made of stones. We navigated the whole road which is a loop. And it takes about 45 minutes to navigate the whole road. Lots of campsites near rivers/streams. Actually had cellphone reception at most of the sites. Very well suited to RV’s. A few sites are level and long enough to fit our 40’ converted school bus and our Jeep Wrangler.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great spots by a stream just after turning on to Kilkenny Loop. There are plenty of spots further along the road but they are mostly smaller pull-offs. Btw, My google maps kept resetting to central Berlin or to the fish hatchery. The road is about a mile before the hatchery, on the left.
Report Check-InFirst stop on the bus trip. Nice road, great camping areas. The bugs aren't too bad!
