Appears to be closed...white rocks across the entrance.
May be seasonal closure?
I followed the road up and across the dam to another spot overlooking the lake...see “Sunset Station” listing. Great views!
Report Check-InThis place was gated closed when I came by, and I had to go through a military checkpoint to get there - the whole area is heavily militarized at present. As I understand it they're there to protect the dam - I was questioned then allowed into the area, and given permission to spend the night in a shady restaurant car park - some 20 or 30 soldiers on guard just 30m from the van who whole night; they're there permanently as I understand it.
It was a quiet enough night and all the soldiers were politely curious about me and my van; not sure I'd recommend it if you have other options though!
